How long for complimentary hotel status to come through

I got my diamond comp last September. I've requested a card by phone while making a booking and also online via my HHonours account. I still don't have a card.

However, I've had a number of stays, been upgraded every time, received free wine, chocolates, fruit, full breakfast etc. etc.

So the card doesn't seem to be that important.

I have just submitted a HH Diamond status match for my wife so lets see how long it takes. (She is currently HH Gold)

With past experience Serfty, does the reset come fairly quickly? I know they've told me the status resets are all manual (which is why they give the three months) but I would have thought the three months was probably adequate. Perhaps diamonds are very last out of the blocks.

Did you have HH before? I'm wondering if when an account is opened, the system automatically generates a blue card.

I suspect you're on to something there since I didn't have HH before. I did try logging in (closest I could see was to use the lost password option since I didn't get sent a pin or anything, but I guess Virgin doesn't give them/they didn't associate my e-mail address with the account). It'll be interesting to see what they say tomorrow/Tuesday.

I really can't say as after an initial Gold comp in 2005 I maintained that status BIB until earning Diamond. Last year I didn't have enough stays, even for gold, so am awaiting demotion before invoking this velocity comp.

I've had the email inicating I had achieved Blue Status, and I am also just waiting to get demoted online.

It's said Diamond since September, which is why I get treated like a Diamond .

Okay rang Hilton and got the password / pin set. They didn't have anything about status match. Said it would have to be fixed by VA.

Rang Velocity who were surprised since they don't match anything but gold or diamond. Gave my details and said it should be fixed in a few days via their liaison officer.

No big deal, especially since its free and I'm not looking to use until August. I'll let you know how long it takes to fix.

I made Platinum a few weeks ago and recently submitted the request to Hilton for Diamond status...

When I submitted the request on the Velocity website, it says Diamond is only valid for 6 months...

I thought it was 12 ?

Reset has occured - it was a bit of a shock to see silver status upon logging on after 7 years Gold/Diamond.

No email, just Silver upon logging on (just the 11 stays last year).

I have received the "Welcome to Gold" email from HHonors :shock:, and need to see my status drop to gold on the website, so as I can also go for the Velocity/Hilton offer.

Apart from being buried in this thread, it's in the Partner Status T&Cs when you opt-in for your complimentary status. Basically 12 months for everything except for Hilton Diamond which is 6.

Hanging out in Hilton hotels and the Virgin thread here... But since I received a nice upgrade as a Gold a few weeks ago I thought I'd look into Hilton further now I am Diamond thanks to VA
