Finland just announced they will close to Russian airlines. Presuming a retaliation from Russia, puts Finnair's eastern operations in to some doubt.Apparently all EU countries will be closing their airspace for Russian airlines. Nothing confirmed though yet
Perhaps it’s time for NATO to conduct military drills on that route and issue some NOTAMs.

Looks like the Middle Eastern air routes are going to be very busy indeed. The Russian aviation authorities plan to act in a mirror manner and close the airspace for all countries that are the first to ban Russian airlines
Yes, remembering as well that Syria and Afghanistan are off limits, and Iran is as well for some carriers.Looks like the Middle Eastern air routes are going to be very busy indeed.
Expecting more phone calls to ANC no doubt over the coming hours/days.Yes, remembering as well that Syria and Afghanistan are off limits, and Iran is as well for some carriers.
That looks like 1/3 of the way there. Probably should have kept going. The laws take time to draw up and then Russia needs to draw up laws to retaliate.Lufthansa has not just announced the cancellation of flights over Russia, but terning its flights midair, sending them back to Germany

Still scheduled to travel to Europe in October and was hoping for a short trip over a bit earlier aswell. I’d have no hesitation heading there but the conflict would definitely affect my choice of airlines. With the UAE‘s pathetic stance I’m seriously looking at adding them to my banned listWhile FR24 and similar accentuate it, these already look busier than 'COVID-19 normal'.
Won't the Ukrainian war cause many from our land to opt out of travelling not just to Eastern Europe, but Western Europe and the UK as well?
Perceptions are what matters. Commonsense may go out the window, although one can understand the nervousness.

If this is still going on in October it’s likely will be in a full on world war by then. In which case travel between continents is going to be limited.

We have decided to continue with our visit to UK next week, and a further one in August. naturally we are concerned, but having flown to London with 2 small girls during the era of IRA bombings we probably have a different risk appetite to others. While FR24 and similar accentuate it, these already look busier than 'COVID-19 normal'.

I doubt it, this isn't the time to holiday in the Ukraine, and I suspect Taiwan will be looking at China nervously right now, but in each case these are territories that Russia / China (the government) feel belong to them already.
We see Russia attack someone every couple of years, typically those who used to be part of the USSR.
But at this stage I would suggest this is more like a Gulf War 1, and less like a WW3.
So to bring this back to the propose of this thread, you're probably going to have more to fear from random COVID rule changes than the that of WW3 breaking out.
