I am supposed to be QFF Platinum today but...

I am supposed to be QFF Platinum today but QANTAS has changed their system and i didn't receive my points and SC.
By improvement that means better experience to customers but with QANTAS i don't think so. I am not sure i will make my international 18 flights per year the next 12 months on a such company how doesn't care about the service. I am a share holder of QANTAS and that's a real pity to see how their staff consider customers.
I just came back from the QF12 from LAX and i am a fan of this wonderful Cadbury hot chocolate with marshmallow and i have seen the trolley gone thru in the plane and didn't stop at all. The flights attendants are supposed to give us (QFF Gold) an express card to exit and i am still waiting for it.
In the past, once you are in the plane your points were automatically credited on your account (i have checked it many many times). Now even after 24 hours still no points.

I'd like to know when QF "changed" their systems. In the 6 years I have been flying regularly my point posting has varied from a few hours after landing to overnight. So i think you are being totally unrealistic for it to happen the second you walk off the plane. It has never credited to my knowledge when you get on the plane.

Oh and i can speak from experience as a gold i didn't get an express entry card. I was given a few departure cards on occasion though.

When i clicked to WP i was flying in the evening and it changed overnight.

I think you are over-reacting. It seems from later posts that you have quite a problem with Qantas, not just limited to the latest flight. However in response to the specific issues you have raised about QF12:

I like the hot chocolate too. Flight attendants are human. They occasionally miss a row - it has happened to me. Just press the call button or ask a passing attendant. Not a reason to abandon Qantas, I think.

International express passes are not a benefit available to QF gold FF. Only for platinum or business or first class. Perhaps you are confused with domestic priority security access, which is available to gold.

Qf status credits do not always appear in accounts immediately. My records show up to 4 days before status credits are recorded, particularly on weekends. What is the problem?.

Congrats on getting to Plat! I too am a fan of the Cadbury Hot Chocolate. I can never quite make it the same when I try at home! (How do they do it?)
It is a packet mix, which they do one per jug (saw them preping it in the galley once). Alas I don't believe we can purchase it (which is a shame cause it's a great way to break up a flight so would be great for a warm drink before bed!).

Anyway... I've been bypassed for a drink service before too - it happens - but I'm sure that you would have been given one had you politely mentioned to the staff that you were bypassed.

Even as WPs both my partner and I have missed out on express cards. And I certainly never received one when I was Gold - lucky you!

You're also rather lucky to have had the points credit to your account once you're on the plane. Mine often take a day or several hours. So it sounds like you've really got to thank Qantas for such great service. :)

That's true i also tried several times to make hot chocolate like them but not the same taste

THank you for sharing your experience about the express card and credits

Ahh I see!

Well that is a shame - it's getting terribly chilly as winter sets in - I really would like one on a night like tonight! :)

It has already been said but this seems like such an over reaction! All about points not posting before or during your flight, being missed for a drink and a card? I thought it was a joke at the start.

I think you're losing more than you'll gain, particularly when you are just getting access to the Sydney F lounge! I'd stay just for that with your flight schedule

They've brought back the Cadbury hot chocolate :o ???

I haven't seen it in ages and I've given up asking :(

It's been on every OS flight i've done in the last couple of years. Had it the other week flying to and from HKG.

I don't even know the F lounge in SYD. What is the difference between the other J lounges ?

Absolutely no intention of telling you that. Simply wanted to point out this forum is a place of information sharing and not the place for rants and whinges.

The difficulty is that rants and whinges are very often information sharing.

As for SQ. I've flown dozens and more flights with them in F,J,Y. They tend to be good in the air - F can be excellent - J is a bit hit and miss for me (with some very underwhelming experiences in regional J) . But when things go wrong on the ground - often due to their decisions (reschedules and the like) - the story can change dramatically - and not for the better! QF have, for me, been consistently much better in such circumstances.

I can't help sorry, when I started flying a lot I went from NB to WP without an international flight... There are lots of other who could help here though!

French champagne, an a la carte menu and a day spa all make me fairly loyal though :)

So you mean they gave me an Express Card since 2 years just because i was smiling ?

No, I mean you, as an SG, are not explicitly entitled to an Express Card. The fact that you have previously been given them can be treated as QF providing good customer relations. The fact that it has stopped probably means they are restricting it to WPs only to keep it Express and not clog those lines with too many people.

The current QF F lounges in MEL and SYD are better, IMO, than any SQ (in SIN) or CX (in HKG) lounge that I have ever been to. The CX Cabanas in HKG were interesting when they were new - but they are now gone.

The QF J lounges in SYD and MEL are more like other J lounges elsewhere.

That's not true., i am a member of QFF since 12 years and it has been improved to year to year and i travel nearly 24 international flights so i know what i am talking about.
Regarding my jet lag, thank you i am very well and keep your flashing lights and other comments like that.

Okay first things first I think your tone is rather accusatory and (I know it is rich coming from me in some respects) a tad bit DYKWIA. Now, from my understanding you are disgruntled because you didn't receive an unofficial benefit, upset because your points haven't credited and you are upset because you didn't receive your hot chocolate. Well, I think that once the 72 hour time period has elapsed then you can consult Qantas. I also would suggest that you edit your work because it is (in some places) a bit incoherent and disjointed (no offense intended). Also, your experiences with your upgrade are most likely deserving of a different thread. I also think that if you politely enquired then you would have gotten your hot chocolate. Also, if you were receiving your Express Passes then you should count yourself lucky. It does annoy me when they give these benefits when they are not meant to (double stands wil be the death of us all) though.

Occasionally points do post early. I had a flight connecting from Perth via Sydney and my points for the second flight had credited before I got on the flight. However I flew back from Adelaide Thursday and they didn't arrive till Saturday.

I guess you could say in this instance Qantas have failed to manage client expectations by delivering above the published benefit too many times. In the OPS mind they should be entitled to all those extras even if they are unpublished because they have received them numerous times.

One of the downsides of providing discretionary extras. Some people will be thankful when they receive them others will expect them and be unhappy when not provided.

Maybe I'm a bit slow today after being up since 0400 AKL time but after 57 posts I am still trying to work out what the issue is here.

Points and SCs have never, in my understanding been guaranteed to post immediately. They often do but not always which is why the web site mentions 72 hours before putting in a claim.
The Express card is not a Gold benefit though I am sure that people get them on occasions.
If you really want/need something on a flight chase the cabin crew down and they will oblige. They are not perfect and obviously just overlooked a few people on this occasion.

The computer must have gotten the public holiday as well. The computer must have a really good union!

1. Got my points credited late therefore could not get into first lounge for subsequent int flight and when landed in sydney, couldn't get into the business lounge either and then had to call up days later to adjust my points properly (still getting SG rates).
2. Didn't get my hot chocolate
3. Didn't get my express card either (but never expected to tho as SG)
4. Had the 3 WP's around me in y+ served before me and was basically invisible when technically I was also WP.
5. Can remember the fifth complain coz its faded from my memory already.

Meh, there are more important things in life to get worked up about ;)
Hope i at least made you feel better?
p.s. my RIO went down a few dollars so i am now restricted to instant noodles
