I am supposed to be QFF Platinum today but...

My first WP qualifying flight was an overnight J SIN-BNE on a Thursday night in May last year, arriving in BnE on Fri AM. I then flew in Y+ BNE-LAX on Saturday. The WP qualifying flight had not posted, so I could get into the BNE or LAX domestic First Lounges on the way over. I flew home on the following Weds night. My WP qual points and SCs had posted, so I was able to access the LAX T4 Flounge on the way hom, and domestic J Lounge in SYD. My extra WP popints for the BNE-LAX flight posted once the WP status came through.

I only ever received arrivals express passes when I flew in J internationally as an SG, and that was because it was a J benefit.

So you mean they gave me an Express Card since 2 years just because i was smiling ?
I did not think it was a Gold benefit so if you got it you have been lucky. I have not always received one as a Platinum but I ask and ask and ask until I get one.

I have checked it many times and my SC were credited on my account on my arrival airport and i don't think QANTAS ever gave me benefits i should not received.
I can hardly ever remember domestic flights posting when I have arrived at the destination. Most times it can take 24-48 hours and if it is partner airlines it can take much longer.

I am sorry to borrow you with that but i thought it was a place to share even when it's not good. And don't tell me QANTAS is always the best.
Qantas is not always the best. Far from it but from my very limited experience in business class I would take Qantas skybed anyday over the SQ bench seat.

In fact I am even going to save money and go back to Qantas bulkheads in economy. But that is me....

What is an express Pass ??
This is a SQ one, but QF have similar:

It allows you to join the designated 'express' queues for customs and immigration at participating airports.

*edit*
and here's a QF one:

They also do departure ones which say 'outbound' instead of 'inbound', once again, for participating airports.

They are given to F and J travellers, and QF WP's also qualify for these passes.

And 99% of the time, if you're an AU or NZ passport holder, SmartGate is so much quicker (last international flight I took, with luggage, I was from the aircraft to the kerbside in 20 minutes and I didn't use my express card anywhere).

Bubbles are Bubbles - no matter, what one wants to call it.

Quality of the bubble, is what one needs to worry about!

What is an express Pass ??
A pass that gets you express departures and arrivals where you can bypass the long queues. First class and Business class passengers usually receive one and so does anyone Platinum and above.

For departures it is quite handy as you have your own dedicated lane such as the 'D' sticker, crew lanes.

For arrivals it is useless if you have anything to declare such as golf clubs etc.

Blasphemy ;) Champagne is Champagne. Sparkling Wine is Sparkling Wine ;)

That said, yes, there are plenty of good Sparkling Wines around (including those made by Chandon here in Australia, under the same method as Champagne but, it's not Champagne). I'm a bit of a Champagne Snob (and it pained me so that last time I was in a lounge o/s they had a lovely fresh bottle of PJ sitting there, and thanks to being stupidly sick, I could not partake :(().

If you're a QF shareholder you should probably be more angsty over the share price going through the floor, than you are about missing a hot chocolate and not getting points credited to you the moment you stepped on the plane. IMO.

what a dilema. as a shareholder you are probably happier in the long run that hot chocolate was not served. lower cost + the smaller waistlines = ligher loads = lower fuel costs!

Say if you were travelling in a group of 4, and you are the only WP, then the express card wouldn't be too useful other than stashing it?

OP, I had a similar SG to WP qualification problem as yours.

Check http://www.australianfrequentflyer....rogram/newbie-wp-qantas-were-great-37470.html

Summary: qualifier flight was <24h before an int'l QF. My SCs hadn't updated in the system, so I technically hadn't hit WP and had no FLounge access. A call to QF and an explanation of my situation, and they applied common sense. Some flexibility and customer service and I'm a loyal and happy QFFer.

Like others, I have had to wait up to three days to get even a simple domestic QF flight to credit to my account. Sometimes, after a points upgrade, I have had flights credit with no FF or SC at all which I have had to chase up to get credited at a later date. So I think the OP is being way over the top with their rant.

I have not been offered, on occasion, an express card when travelling in J/F as a WP. So this happens to all of us. On the hot chocolate, I did not know they even served it but I try not to travel in Y to the US.

If the OP believes they have been wronged by QF, they should write to customer care. But as the OP has probably realised, QF will laugh at their claim if presented to QF the same way as presented here.

As a tip to the OP, you better fly someone else for your 18 international flights this year as I guarantee that you will experience far worst issues on QF than you are complaining about now. Service as a WP is no different to being SG, so that will not help you.

I don't think there is any express lane in PER;)

Obviously these occurances were not coming into PER.

However, I have had the CSM's of a couple of incoming flights into PER ask me if we have an express lane here........

Not sure I'd agree that Chandon is up near the top of Oz fizz. Several Tasmanian producers are way above that IMHO. But, even that said, only Champagne is the real deal.

Nothing in Perth have express lanes, we are called Wait Awhile for good reason! It took 2 days I think for my WP status to update so sit tight it's worth the wait!

I've had some good Aussie sparkling, Chandon is one of them, I rate it over Mumm though, don't like it and regret getting a case of it... My favorite is still Bollinger.

I've got a bottle of La Grande Annee and 2 bottles of Krug I'm waiting for an excuse/occasion to open!
