Disappointing visit, basically received nothing

Status: Platinum (no Ambassador)
Hotel: Holiday Inn Express Frankfurt Airport
Booked: Standard Room (non-smoking)
Rate: Advance Purchase, EUR 59.00
Received: Standard Room (Priority Club Room)
Welcome Amenities: None. Well, was offered a free newspaper for the next day, but declined.

The room I got was on the first floor, which is close to everything but requires one to go up stairs (no lift to the floor). Only a short flight (about a dozen steps or so), but wouldn't be great if you had plenty of heavy luggage.

No free internet in rooms (in-room internet is wired, not wireless), but free wifi available if you go to the reception / lounge bar / eating area.

For a HIX, you really can't expect anything more than your room, so it delivered.

Most upgrades at the IC Perth are only for Ambassadors, Plats might get a better view room (one that has less carpark) but thats about it, if you get an upgrade as Gold immediately go to the casino as your luck is in!

I stayed here recently as a Gold member and arrived at about 10.00am (just flew in from BKK) hoping to leave my bag there until check in time. The very welcome greeting was "Hello Mr Hvr, welcome to our hotel, here is your room card, thank you for choosing our hotel. And we've upgraded you to a larger room (specified but I can't remember what it was)"

When I returned to my room later in the day the card and chocolates were there for me.

Yes I did report the very positive experience on my comments card including the name of the check in lady.

I'll be back there next month.

Hotel: Holiday Inn Atrium Singapore
Booked: King Bed Deluxe Room
Rate: Std Corporate Rate
Received: 1st Night Double Bed Deluxe Room
...Yeah, like I would not be able to tell the difference between a Double and a King :)
After a quiet word to the duty manager
Received: 2nd - 14th Night Japanese Suite
This room is certainly different, but not well arranged. It had seperate areas for Toilet/Basin, Vanity Area, Wet room with bath (incl. freestanding shower), Lounge, WIR, Bedroom, and Balcony area shut off by Japanese screens. Overall the room was comfortable and clean, but in need of renovation

One thing that really annoyed me was the lack of power outlets - 2 for the whole suite !!!

Status: Platinum (no Ambassador)
Hotel: Crowne Plaza Perth
Booked: Standard Room
Rate: PP 25% off certificate. They were supposed to take the certificate (this wasn't a book-and-keep promo), but they didn't ask for it.
Received: Not sure what type of room, but I was "upgraded" to a higher floor room with a view of the Esplanade. (There are several floors of this hotel where the floor is a "ring" of rooms with various views, and then there are the higher floor rooms which are Esplanade-view rooms only).
When I was about to receive my room key, the receptionist saw the room I had, did a "double take", tore up the room slip and tapped away before giving me a new room slip and newly encoded key card. So not sure if the upgrade was proactive or not (it could be that it happened electronically after the check-in documents had been prepared).
Welcome Amenities: Welcome letter, two Crown Lagers. Both were delivered to my room after check-in and after I had entered the room for the first time.
