Can you quantify how you have knowledge that there were 50 Platinum members (I rarely bother taking note of others' status).
How do you know the only assistance provided was for First and CL Passengers?
How many is 'most of the 50 Platinum members' waiting in arrivals? Where were the rest of them, if no special arrangements had been made, and most were waiting in arrivals?
Sorry - I've read the above as a very subjective view that, in my mind, it doesn't paint a complete picture. I certainly wasn't there- and, from the above, the author was too busy being whisked off in chauffeured comfort to do a boarding pass inspection and a post-delay interview with most of the WP's, in order to accurately portray the situation.
I must say the first hosts in LHR are great - really great.
A good 30-40% of the time the BA lounge staff will try to send you to the business class lounge if you are not in flying first.
"Off to the commons with you riff raff, this is the First lounge for First class passengers!"
"but, but I have a platinum card..."
"Platinum? What is this platinum thing you speak of?"
"Well for all intents and purposes it is the same as your Gold, even though the commodity is worth more"
<incredulous stare>

Excuse my ignorance - is this a BA or QF shared service?
Does anyone know the number of P1's that will be on the books as of the go live date. Also what percentage is this of QF's total number of FF members....
I've tried both the QF & VA "barista" brewed coffee. Both of them are horrible. What is your opinion of QF lounge coffee?

They need to get Seven Seeds or Supreme to get in there and do some consulting.
Meh! I'm a long black drinker and both provide nice enough coffees - only happens morning flights, my main concern is why I'm not travelling on an evening flight!![]()
Reminds me of the time I was down in Georgia (1st time in the us of a) & I ordered one of those with dessert. Got myself into ALL sorts of trouble. "Honey" she said, "I can just tell you're not from around here .."
There's another thread around at the moment that talks about a southern accent & miscommunication trouble.

Did anyone ask:
4) Tully previously said "while Platinum One will be a very different proposition to the exclusive invitation-only Qantas Chairman's Lounge, some of the benefits might be aligned.” Any discussion on why no CL access?
cheers
General consensus is that there are a good many CL members who hardly travel or don't travel with QF anyway - If there is so few WP1 why don't they chuck in CL membership or as least access?
It would be the only benefit that would actively encourage me to move from WP to WP1. Other than that I don't see what all the fuss is about.
Maybe doing that would upset the CLs. They just might see their benefits / differential being "Enhanced". Plus a really determined SC runner, who may not fit the expected CL mold, could make WP1 and then get CL access. Gotta keep the riff raff out of the CL.![]()
You mean, keep the riff raff in the CL..
