J seat choice on A 380

I have just had my award upgrade on QF12 come through and have a choice of either 13 j/k or 22. I have sat in row 16 on the A380 and remember a lot of noise coming from the galley, so not sure if 13 would have the same problem. Row 22 is further from the galley, but is the very last row in the J cabin, so perhaps not as good a seat?

Any thoughts on the best choice appreciated.

Emerald City (Rows 11,12,13) generally viewed as the preferred choice. Smaller cabin, close to the lounge.

Galley noise generally filtered out be headphones/ earplugs.

Thanks, grabbed 13k. Normally I select aisle, but I figure the window will help keep down any galley noise or traffic.

It's easy enough to access the aisle from the window seat, plus you get access to a side storage bin.

I've taken 13 for a forthcoming trip.

11 was horrible last time I flew as the bassinet row had a full complement of screaming brats who kept it up all night.

Anyone else noticed the droopy nose on the 380 J seats?

It's been noted recently on an FT thread - seems the seats are not up to staying level after long term use and a new facilitation has been found for Rollaboards.

11 is a bassinet row? Isn't in the 2nd cabin?

You are right, not Bassinet. Just my memory playing tricks after sitting next to toddlers from hell.
11 also very tight to get out off if you are at the window and can experience noise from bar/lounge area

Also, 11K has a 'medical' power supply and you may be politely 'requested' to move from it ... :-|

16 is the bassinet row - I've had that seat with a baby GCC. Even with no babies the aisle seats get lots of noise as right next to the toilet and there is curtain that continually is opened. Not a great design, it woke up the otherwise happily snoozing baby a few times.

Ditto for me 12E or 12F for day takeoff (dinner service), although prefer 12A/K for night takeoff flights

Just flew 19e and 19f (only two we could get together). Seats were fine but I certainly think that the service is a little quicker in the forward cabin. Also with the middle seats there seemed to be a lot of cross traffic that used the gap between the rows as a corridoor. Not a major issue, but sometimes felt that it was an invasion of privacy.

I've got 11 E & F booked for a flight to HKG in a couple of weeks. Logic is that we both get aisle access, and as it's a daytime flight I might want to lounge in the lounge or grab a drink at the bar, and thought these as closest would be ideal.
Otherwise I've always sat in 16 before.
I hope this is the correct move!
I've also got a points based upgrade request in - that would be the correct move .....
