Jetstar Delays/Cancellations

Due to earlier delays as above, SYD is extremely busy at 2215 hours on Friday 22 November with JQ425 (A321 VH-VWQ, the 1825 hours OOL down to SYD airborne at 2014) likely to arrive at 2227 hours, 92 minutes late.

JQ522 (VH-VWN) is the scheduled 1945 hours MEL - SYD not airborne until 2114 hours, with suggested arrival at 2236 hours, 86 minutes tardy.

A320 VH-VGP on JQ750 (timetabled 2020 hours LST up to SYD, but in the sky at 2117) should arrive at 2251 late tonight, 56 late.

the CNS down to SYD JQ949 looks to be arriving at 2242, 32 late with A320 VH-XJE.

The 2025 hours MEL - SYD was pointing skywards at 2140 as JQ518 (VH-JQX.) Arrival should be about 2249, 59 late.

JQ823, the BNE down to SYD is technically breaching the SYD curfew with arrival suggested at 2310 hours, 55 late for A320 VH-VQE.

UPDATE: JQ823 landed at 2311 so arrival will be 2316 hours.

Continuing with the many delays of Friday 22 November evening, JQ611 (A320 VH-VQJ), the 2200 hours SYD - AVV had yet to take off by 2304 hours.

JQ525, the 2030 hours SYD - ME (A321 VH-VWT) took off at 2323 hours, well past the supposed 2300 hours curfew, so is at least two and a half hour late.

JQ611 followed at 2324 hours, so is more than an hour late.

JQ774, the 1355 hours afternoon MEL - ADL is cancelled on Saturday 23 November 2019.

As at 1228 hours, JQ766, the 0930 hours Saturday SYD across to ADL (A320 VH-XSJ) had yet to push back, so it will be at least three hours late. The delay is due to JQ765, the 0625 hours ADL - SYD not becoming airborne until 0942 hours and hence arriving the mainland harbour city at 1152, 182 late. However as JQa776, the plane was only eight late arriving ADL last night (ex MEL) at 2218 hours, so perhaps the crew came off another delayed flight last night and needed the minimum 10 hours' rest.'

UPDATE: JQ766 took off at 1248.

Sunday 24 November's JQ26 from NRT down to CNS, the 2010 hours, took off at 2209. On Monday 25, B788 VH-VKB looks to be arriving at 0608 hours, 88 minutes behind schedule. Some days this flight continues to either MEL or OOL but according to the timetable that isn't the case today.

JQ794, the Monday 25 November 2019 scheduled 1030 hours midmorning (MEL - MCY) was cancelled.

The 1100 MEL to BNK - seemingly not a priority when things go awry -s is expected to depart at 1200 'high noon' as JQ464.

Later on 25 November, JQ439 (1450 hours OOL down to MEL up up and away at 1603 hours) should arrive at 1911 hours, 61 late with A320 VH-VFY.

Having had storms this afternoon, SYD looks to be quite congested at 1750 hours. The 1300 hours lunchtime AYQ to SYD JQ661 was airborne at 1320, only 5 - 10 late, with A320 VH-VFV. It held just north of Goulburn so arrival is at an estimated 1812 hours, 42 behind.

JQ531 (25 November, the 1630 hours SYD - MEL in the sky at 1719, A320 VH-VFK) should arrive at 1910, 65 minutes late.

Northbound JQ516 (A321 VH-VWQ) has had a far more "interesting" journey. It is the scheduled 1630 hours ex MEL that was up up and away at 1656, around 15 late. It proceeded north to Batlow, where it commenced a lengthy hold, finishing up above apple growing country at Batlow, and then making a right turn to head down past Wee Jasper and Khancoban. It then flew in what the map's projection shows as a 'U' near Dartmouth and Mt Beauty. As at 1859 it was holding above Mt Buller, and looks to be returning to MEL, so passengers are no better off than when they commenced their trip.

This is the second time in four days that JQ516 has been diverted, and it's even managaing to vary the intermediate stops, as 22 November's effort was CBR.

Hoteliers must love this.

Still on Monday 25 November, with JQ521, the 1725 hours SYD - MEL not airborne until 1953. A321 VH-VWN then had to ahold in the usual favoured position above Mt Buller, so arrival is suggested as 2124 hours, 144 minutes behind the schedule.

Still on 25 November with its poor weather in Sydney, JQ530, the 1855 hours MEL - SYD (A320 VH-VFO) took off at 2114, but only got to east of Boorowa before turning back to MEL, where arrival will be at about 2255 hours, 155 minutes later than the passengers and crew ought be arriving in SYD.

A 'night on the tiles' for travellers?

On a reasonably stormy day in much of Victoria and a very stormy day around Sydney, JQ604 (A320 VH-JQX, the 1245 hours AVV - SYD that took off at 1330) should arrive at 1459, 49 late.

The 1320 hours Tuesday 26 November SYD - OOL (JQ412, A320 VH-VFO) was in the sky at 1412 hours with estimated arrival 1423 hours, 43 minutes tardy.

There have been at least thre JQ flights with four digit numbers on Tuesday 26 November, probably repositioning empty ('ferry') flights due to yesterday's very adverse SYD weather.

JQ7502 (A321 VH-VWX) took off from MEL at 1439 and is arriving SYD at 1551 hours.

A320 VH-VGY is on JQ7404 that was airborne from SYD at 1531 mid afternoon. The FlightAware site suggests it's heading for OOL, but that's not yet apparent from the early stage of its flight path.

Passenger flight JQ720 (VH-VWQ) is the 1330 hours HBA - SYD in the sky at 1410 for projected arrival at 1558 hours, 43 late.

The MCY - SYD 1255 hours (JQ787 operated by A320 VH-VGP) was airborne at 1333 hours with late arrival 1626 hours, 56 behind.

In further, JQ44 DPS-MEL (B788 VH-VKJ) has a suggested arrival at 22 46, 96 min behind.
JQ566 MEL-BNE (A320 VH-VQC) has a revised arrival time at 20 08, 73 min tardy.

JQ821 BNE-SYD 17 30 hours was cancelled.
JQ522 MEL-SYD 19 45 hours was also cancelled.
JQ791 MCY-SYD 18 45 hours had similar luck.
JQ824 SYD-BNE 20 40 hours also cancelled.
JQ527 SYD-MEL 21 55 hours service was cancelled.

Also on 26 November 2019, JQ17, the afternoon MEL - HKT due out at 1520 departed 90 late with arrival suggested as 2150 hours tonight, 100 minutes behind schedule. JQ18 wil be delayed.

JQ703, the Wednesday 27 November 0830 hours MEL down to HBA should depart 75 late.

AFFer dajop's favourite flight, JQ7 is to push back at 1255 this afternoon, 55 minutes behind schedule. The 1210 hours domestic from MEL up to NTL, JQ474 is forecast to just beat it out with projected pushback at 1250 hours.

Later on 27 November, JQ67, the 1350 hours MEL up to CGO (B788 VH-VKA) took off at 1535, so suggested arrival is 2252 hours, 82 minutes behind the timetable.

Earlier, JQ18, delayed because of tardiness with yesterday's JQ17, arrived ex HKT in MEL at 1134 hours, 74 late.

The 1455 hours MEL - OOL, JQ438 (A320 VH-VFU) was airborne at 1541 with arrival suggested as 1631 hours, 31 minutes late.

27 November's JQ943, the 1835 hours CNS to MEL took off at 1942 hours. Arrival for A321 VH-VWY should be at 2346 hours, 51 minutes tardy.

On Thursday 28 November, JQ719 (the 0600 hours early morning first from SYD down to HBA, A320 VH-VQW) took off at a delayed 0710 hours so arrival looks to be 53 behind at 0848 hours.

A320 VH-VFF on JQ603, the 0640 hours SYD down to AVV was another late off blocks for the start of its day, taking off at 0750 hours for forecast arrival at 0909 hours, 54 late.

The 0630 hours ADL - DPS (JQ125, A320 VH-VFH) did not become airborne until 0756. Estimated arrival in Bali is 1030 hours, 70 late.

JQ8998 (B788 VH-VKJ) is on what looks to be an empty ('ferry') flight from MEL to CNS, having taken off at 0802 hours. On Wednesday night in MEL, it arrived as JQ44 at 2252 hours, 102 minutes late ex DPS. Next duty looks to be JQ25, the lunchtime 1215 hours CNS up to NRT so in theory its 1000 hours CNS arrival should see it have plenty of time to form the Japan flight.

JQ527 on Thursday 28 November, the SYD - MEL timed to depart at 2155 hours has A321 VH-VWW and was airborne at 2306. Arrival on Friday 29 should be at 0018, 48 minutes behind schedule.

The CNS across to DRW JQ920 (scheduled at 1615 ex CNS, but took off at 2046 with A320 VH-VQA) is far worse, with arrival suggested as 2232 hours, 252 minutes behind schedule. It must be operating in place of a failed aircraft, as its previous flight was JQ964 from OOL to CNS, where it arrived just five minutes late at 1955 hours. Its next flight tonight should be JQ921 back to CNS.

JQ631 OOL-AVV ( VH-VQJ) has diverted while near Dubbo to SYD and had a very quick arrival on RWY07 and subsequent quick taxi to the terminal . It would suggest it was probably a medical diversion . Therefore the 14.55 arrival in AVV , will be substantially delayed. As a flow on the 15.45 JQ606 AVV-SYD will be delayed or possibly cancelled.
