Jetstar Delays/Cancellations

Continuing with the many delays of Wednesday 15 January, JQ530 (A320 VH-VFJ) is the 1855 hours early evening MEL up to SYD that was not airborne until 2157 hours. Arrival should be 2306, 166 late, so with landing predicted at 2301 hours it must have a dispensation from the Federal Minister's delegate.

On Thursday 16 January, B788 VH-VKH on JQ36, the DPS - MEL redeye is arriving at 0822, 32 minutes tardy.

The 0640 hours from rainy SYD down to AVV, JQ603 (A320 VH-VQP) was in the sky at 0729 hours so arrival should be 31 minutes behind at 0846 hours. This will delay JQ612, the scheduled 0845 hours back to SYD.

The redeye PER to SYD JQ989 (A320 VH-VGJ) is the 2255 hours Wednesday 15 that took off at 0113 n Thursday 16. It had to hold southwest of SYD so arrival is further delayed to 0834, 144 minutes tardy.

In more on 16 January, flight JQ7401 (A321 VH-VWT) is about to take off to the north as at 1357 on a SYD - MEL run that may be an empty ('ferry') flight or a school holiday extra (perhaps the latter is unlikely given QFd's CEO's comments about flying of JQd being reduced by 10 per cent in January 2020.)

JQ412, the 1320 hours SYD up to OOL with A320 VH-VGF was still taxiing as at 1430 so it will be at least 50 minutes late arriving.

JQ515 (1330 hours SYD down to MEL) had yet to depart (with VH-VFJ) by 1507 so is likely to be at least 90 late arriving.

Friday 17 January has JQ929 (0600 hours first of the morning CNS down to BNE airborne at 0648) suggested as arriving at 0852 hours, 42 late with A320 VH-JQX.

JQ507 (A321 VH-VWX, the 0825 hours SYD down to MEL) took off at 0920 so estimated arrival is 1033, 33 late.

The 0920 hours SYD up to MCY, JQ904 was in the sky at 1004 so A320 VH-VGI should arrive at roughly 1026 hours, 31 late.

The 1435 hours NTL down to MEL, JQ477 has VH-VQQ, and was airborne at 1633 so delayed arrival will be at 1758, 103 minutes behind schedule.

Saturday 18 January has JQ718, the morning 0825 hours HBA up to SYD airborne at 0857, so A320 VH-VGF's arrival should be 1045 hours, 35 minutes behind the timetable.

Later on 18 January, JQ433 (0725 hours OOL - MEL) was not in the sky until 1027. A320 VH-VFD is arriving at 1319 hours, 154 late.

JQ961 (Sunday 20 January, the scheduled 1045 hours mid morning CNS down to ADL, not a route that would have existed 20 years ago) has A320 VH-VGT and took off at 1152 hours. Arrival looks to be 1518 hours, 53 minutes behind schedule.

Later on 19 January, JQ607 (1525 hours SYD down to AVV in the sky at 1650 with A320 VH-VGI) is arriving at 1805 hours, 65 late.

The BNK down to MEL JQ465 has VH-VFQ awith forecast arrival 1828 hours, 33 late.

Later on Monday 20 January 2020, JQ631, the 1140 hours OOL down to AVV with A320 VH-VFJ, took off at 1229 so expected arrival is 1527, 32 late. JQ606, the 1545 hours AVV - SYD is as a result predicted to depart at 1605 hours.

The BNK down to SYD JQ463 has VH-VGU and should arrive at 1501, 36 minutes behind schedule.

JQ708 (A320 VH-VGD, 1305 hours HBA - MEL airborne at 1344) is arriving at 1504 hours, 39 late.

The 1400 hours MEL up to SYD, JQ526 (A320 VH-VQP) was airborne at 1425, only about 10 late but following a holding pattern north of Goulburn, estimated arrival has blown out to 1601 hours, 36 minutes tardy.

Rain is bearing down in a significant manner on SYD and some is also approaching MEL so expect some delays to rise this afternoon.

On Wednesday 22 January 2020, JQ564 (A320 VH-VGZ, the 1120 hours late morning MEL up to BNE airborne at 1221 hours) should be arriving at about 1314 hours, 39 late.

A couple of hundred kilometres behind is JQ7996 (A320 VH-VFL) that may be an empty ('ferry') flight, also MEL - BNE. It was airborne at 1232 hours.

The 1210 hours MEL up to NTL, JQ474, did not become airborne until 1335 this afternoon so arrival for A320 VH-VFX should be 1453, 73 behind.

Later on 22 January, JQ511 (A321 VH-VWT) is arriving MEL ex SYD at 1440 hours mid afternoon, half an hour late, while JQ436, teh 1305 hours MELup to OOL at 1440 was still taxiing so VH-VQC (A320) will be at least half an hour late.

JQ30 from BKK to MEL is far worse, with this scheduled 21 January 2125 hours departure not having become airborne until the unpleasant time of 0352 this morning. B788 VH-VKI should arrive (subject to any holds) at 1610 hours, 340 minutes late.

Ahead of 'the 30' is JQ665 (A329 VH-VQM) that is the 1100 hours AYQ down to MEL in the sky at 1140, about 25 late. Arrival should be 1605, 55 minutes behind the timetable.

Earlier, JQ36, the 0750 hours MEL arrival ex DPS was cancelled. JQ98 from DPS to MEL is estimated to arrive 50 minutes late at 2045.

JQ43, the 1005 hours morning MEL - DPS took off at 1308 this afternoon.

Later on 22 January 2020, JQ606 (A320 VH-VFJ), the 1545 hours AVV up to SYD, took off at 1641 so arrival should be 1758, 48 minutes behind schedule.

Friday 24 January's JQ953 (A320 VH-JQX) is the early morning 0700 hours CNS down to SYD not in the sky until 0917 hours. Arrival should be 1255 hours, two hours late, probably not helped by the weather around SYD.

JQ439 (Sunday 26 January, the scheduled OOL - MEL at 1450 hours that wasn't in the sky until 1634 with A320 VH-VQP) should arrive at 1939, 89 minutes behind the schedule.

Wednesday 29 January's JQ973 (timetabled as the 0800 hours PER across to MEL) is expected to push back half an hour late, consequently arriving at 1510 mid afternoon, 35 late.

A320 VH-VGN is operating what may be an empty ('ferry') flight SYD - MEL (JQ7999.) It took off at 0849 hours so arrival should be around 1005 hours.

B788 VH-VKG on JQ49, the 0700 hours early morning MEL - OOL initial sector did not take off until 0853 hour, so arrival is predicted for 0939 hours, 94 minutes behind schedule. This plane then proceeds on the new (infrequent) route to ICN with blocks off at OOL timed for 1135, so that should be on time. There may be other reasons such as unavailability of an earlier slot at ICN, but the flight from MEL to ICN spends a much longer time at OOL than one would have thought was efficient.

JQ966 (0700 hours OOL - CNS, A320 VH-VFQ) was not airborne until 0925, meaning arrival in the major FNQ airport at approximately 1132 hours, 127 minutes late.
