On 31 January, a Friday, JQ506, the 0930 hours MEL - SYD was in the sky at 1033, so arrival for A320 VH-VGO is advised as 48 late at 1143 hours.

The LST up to SYD JQ746 has A320 VH-VGT with an 1143 hours arrival, 33 late on the cards.

JQ631, the OOL - AVV has A320 VH-VFL with predicted arrival at 1525, half an hour past what the timetable says.

The 1210 hours MEL - NTL is often late with Friday no exception. A320 VH-VGQ was in the sky at 1347. Forecast arrival is 83 minutes tardy at 1503 hours.

JQ436 (timetabled as the 1305 hours MEL - OOL that was up up and away at 1406 with A321 VH-VWW) is arriving at a claimed 1457 hours, 47 minutes behind schedule.

As a thunderstorm approaches or hits MEL with the temperature having dropped 12 degrees to 29 in the last 20 minutes to half an hour on Friday 31 January 2020, JQ831, the 1125 hours ex PPP that was in the sky at 1208 hours is arriving at 1608 hours, 43 late with A320 VH-VQP.

The 1330 hours BNK down to MEL, JQ431 took off at 1431 so A320 VH-VQG has a 65 minute late arrival at 1645 hours as its estimate.

Still on 31 January, JQ518, the 2025 hours MEL - SYD JQ518 was airborne with VH-VQP at 2117 hours, so delayed arrival should be at 2227 hours, 37 late. It should have picked up a whole (net) six minutes since the previous post.

There was also this on a MEL - HBA today, which looks to have been JQ713, the 1310 hours MEL - HBA (A321 VH-VWX) airborne at 1325 that arrived on time at 1425, but later ran empty ('ferried') back up to MEL as JQ7998, arriving at 2040 hours mid evening.

JQ1, the 1635 hours afternoon MEL - HNL on Friday 31 January was delayed overnight, with takeoff on Saturday 1 February at 0841 for class leader B788 VH-VKA. Arrival should be at 2139 hours, 939 minutes late.

Another B788, VKL, is on the 0715 hours BNE to DPS JQ57 but it had not taken off by 1130 local time (1230 AEDT.)

VH-VKF is on the final sector of JQ50, the 1000 hours BNE - SYD in the sky at 1111. A47 late arrival at 1317 hours is the suggestion.

The 0700 hours MEL - BNE, JQ560 was cancelled on Saturday morning.

UPDATE: JQ57 was airborne at 1133, four hours late.

JQ515 (Sunday 2 February, the 1330 hours SYD down to MEL (A320 VH-VQA) took off at 1442 so its arrival has become 1600 hours, 55 minutes tardy.

With the severe SYD storms on Sunday late afternoon (2 February 2020), JQ722, the 1625 hours HBA up to SYD that took off at 1650 hours (only about 10 minutes tardy) with A320 VH-VFY had to hold southwest of Goulburn so arrival at 1904, 54 late is the suggestion.

Also on Sunday 2 February, JQ4 (B788 VH-VKF) was holding above Tasman Sea as at 2040 hours so arrival should be about 2104 hours, 319 minutes late thanks to JQ3 on Saturday 1 being delayed ex SYD.

Later on 2 February, JQ521 (scheduled 1725 hours SYD - MEL) had a very lengthy delay, becoming airborne at 2257 hours with A321 VH-VWY. Arrival should be on Monday 3 at 0014 hours, 314 minutes tardy. What a trip.

JQ36, the overnight redeye from DPS down to MEL should arrive on Monday 3 February at 1111 hours, 201 minutes late with B788 VH-VKF.

The 0720 hours SYD down to LST JQ745 (A320 VH-VGI) took off at 0823 hours so likely arrival is 41 minutes late at 0946 hours mid morning.

The new flight from ICN down to OOL (JQ50, B788 VH-VKB) should arrive 50 minutes late at 0920 hours.

JQ224, the afternoon 1340 hours SYD arrival ex ZQN has been cancelled.

JQ564 (1120 hours late morning Wednesday 5 February MEL - OOL) has been cancelled.

After last night's JQ35/36 were cancelled (see above), JQ43, Wednesday 5 February scheduled 1005 hours MEL - DPS did not become airborne until 1240, so expected arrival for B788 VH-VKH should be at about 1503, 128 minutes behind schedule.

Later on Wednesday 5 February, the DPS - BNE JQ58 (1425 hours airborne at 1641 with VH-VKH, B788) should arrive at 0005 hours on Thursday 6, two hours late. This is due to JQ43 ex MEL being late this afternoon as in the previous post.

JQ563 (Thursday 6 February, the 0855 hours BNE - MEL airborne at 1023 hours with A321 VH-VWY) should be arriving at about 1321, 61 minutes late.

Opposite number JQ564 has the smaller A320 VH-VFU employed as the 1120 hours MEL up to BNE that was in the sky at 1215 hours. Expected arrival has become 1310, 35 behind.

JQ604, operated by A320 VH-VGH, is the 1245 hours lunchtime AVV up to SYD airborne at 1329, so its arrival should be at roughly 1442, 32 late.

The very heavy rain around Brisbane doesn't appear to be creating long delays yet but that's perhaps a function as to how it's not yet peak period.

However on Thursday 6 February, JQ930, the 1300 hours BNE up to CNS (A320 VH-VQW) took off at 1412 so arrival should be roughly 1611 hours, 51 minutes late.

On Friday 7 February, JQ501, first of the morning at a scheduled 0600 hours from SYD down to MEL had A320 VH-VGQ, taking off at 0617 hours. However it seems to be diverting to AVV with arrival likely at about 0757, instead of 0735 in MEL. I assume smoke haze (or fog) is the reason.

A321 VH-VWY is on 7 February 2020 operating JQ432, the 1000 hours MEL to a wet OOL airborne at 1124. Arrival looks like 1221 hours, 76 behind the timetable.

JQ36 (2315 hours Thursday 6 DPS to MEL redye) did not take off until 0320 on Friday 7. Arrival for B788 VH-VKH after a very lengthy hold should be at 1159 hours, 249 minutes late. Last night, JQ35 (the 1855 hours MEL - DPS) did not take off until 2329, explaining the delay to 'the 36.'

As a result, JQ43 (the 1005 hours day offering of the 'double daillies') is showing as a 1250 hours pushback, but this may be quite unrealistic. 1315 or later may be the go.

One can't imagine AFFers MEL_Traveller or dajop baeing impressed with another JQ B788 delay (which then results in the return flight also being tardy.)

As at 1350 hours on Friday 7, this aircraft has not departed AVV. Unusual.

7 February 2020's JQ521 (scheduled at 1725 hours from SYD down to MEL, but airborne at 1824) has A321 VH-VWX with suggested arrival 31 minutes late at 1931.
