Re: General Jetstar Delays/Cancellations/etc. Discussion
On Sunday 10 January, the 0945 hours MEL to SYD, JQ508, has been cancelled, as have the two 'usual cancellations' returns to PER. JQ464, the 1015 MEL to BNK did not depart until 1050. JQ511, the 1200 'high noon' SYD to MEL has also been given the boot as has JQ517, the 1400 hours flight.
Once again, this shows JQ's chronic unreliability on the MEL to SYD and return route. It would be instructive to know from any AFF members booked on one of these cancelled flights how JQ treated them, how much notice they had of the cancellation and whether they were given the option of transferring to alternative QF or JQ flight times, plus the option of a full refund if desired.
JQ730, the 0810 early Sunday morning from LST to MEL is not expected to depart until 1145. It looked to have earlier arrived nine minutes early on JQ731 at 0731 ex the Victorian capital, so something is awry in Tasmania's second city. Having an aircraft temporarily marooned at an 'outstation' like this is unhelpful to punctuality.
JQ213, the 1250 MEL to AKL is delayed in departing until an expected 1330 hours this afternoon.
JQ400, the 0610 SYD to OOL departed at 0622 but the
www.qantas.com.au flight status shows it as 'arriving' at 0917 but then below in a separate entry implies that it was 'cancelled.' Did this flight operate, did it turn back or is one of these merely an error?
JQ766, the 1345 hours SYD to ADL is badly delayed with the revised forecast departure being 1540 this afternoon.
UPDATE: JQ778, the 1825 MEL to ADL, departed at 1938, arriving 68 minutes late at 2023 hours. In turn this is delaying JQ81 from its 2040 hours departure for DRW to a forecast 2125 hours.
JQ143, the 1925 hours from SYD to CHC departed at 2053 with arrival expected at an unseemly 0206 on Monday 11 in lieu of 0025. JQ770 from SYD to ADL left 69 minutes late at 2109.
JQ529 tonight is forecast to be delayed an hour until 2245 in departing for the run down to MEL, uncomfortably close to the commencement of the SYD curfew.
