Jetstar Delays/Cancellations

Thank you docjames. Did JQ provide buses to get pax without personal transport to Tullamarine Airport?

This is the second day of fog-related disruption at AVV. Not much of an 'alternate!'

Reflecting the many delays and cancellations caused by MEL's fog earlier today - and since this thread is about JQ, at AVV too for good measure - JQ778, the Friday 3 June 1730 hours MEL - ADL took off at 1816 and should be in the South Australian capital at about 1849, 29 minutes late. Plane is A320 VH-JQX.

The 1930 hours evening flight from SYD across the ditch to CHC took off at 2112 (A320 VH-VQA) and so will not arrive until about 0142 hours on Saturday 4 June, 62 minutes late.

JQ791, the 1930 hours MCY down to SYD was airborne at 2023 and so will arrive at roughly 2146 tonight, 36 minutes late, with A320 VH-VQH performing the honours.

One of a few flights to operate from AVV in the last few days - fog has been disruptive - JQ610, the 2030 hours to SYD took off at 2111 and should arrive at about 2227 hours, 32 minutes late. Aircraft is VH-VQS, an A320.

The 3 June 2016 fog delays at MEL have continued into Saturday 4 June with JQ961, the 1800 hours Friday 3 PER - MEL not taking off until 1907 hours, with Saturday arrival in MEL at about 0024, 49 minutes late. A320 VH-VGT is the 'craft.

Earlier, JQ127, the 1905 hours Friday 3 June ADL - DPS took off at 2004 with arrival in Bali suggested as 2330, 45 minutes late. VH-VFL is the aircraft, not 'VH-SANFL' if Croweaters wish to get historically parochial with an Australian football code reference.

On Saturday 4 June 2016, the 1000 MEL to OOL (JQ432) is expected to depart at 1045.

UPDATE: JQ708, the 1210 HBA - MEL (A320 VH-VGT) was airborne at 1316 and is about to arrive at 1429 hours, 64 minutes late. JQ511, the identically timed departure from SYD for MEL did not take off until 1335 and hence should arrive at about 1518, 93 minutes late. VH-VQM is the aircraft, another A320.

Continuing the delayed departures on this wet lower east coast day, JQ513 (1245 hours SYd - MEL) took off at 1402 and should arrive at about 1511 hours, 51 minutes late with aircraft VH-VWY, an A321.

Pax were offered coach transfer to Southern Cross Station.

Some chose to drive - the issue then being their car at MEL with return booked to AVV.

I know at least one who booked VA for the return and dumped the JQ flight.

Not sure what JQ would / would not have done for pax who chose to drive to MEL. Hopefully a re-route to MEL on the return leg but who knows?

With the continuing extensive rain in SYD and elsewhere along the lower Australian east coast, on Sunday 5 June JQ953, the 0710 from CNS that took off if anything early at 1016 is arriving in SYD at about 1041 with A320 VH-VGN.

JQ28 from HKT (B788 VH-VKB) is just behind JQ953 and arriving at about 1042, 37 minutes late.

The 0915 hours MEL - SYD, JQ506, took off at 1029 and should arrive at about 1145, 65 minutes tardy. Aircraft is VH-VQM, another A320.

JQ746 (0930 hours LST - SYD, A320 VH-VGQ) took off at 1006 but with the delays is not expected to be at the gate in SYD until roughly 1145, 40 minutes late.

VH-VFU, an A320 on the 0950 hours SYD to BNE, JQ814, was still sitting at the SYD terminal at 1055 so it will be more than an hour late. The 0930 hours SYD to MCY (A320 VH-VFL) took off at 1053 so is similarly behind time.

JQ223 (0940 SYD to ZQN, operated by A320 VH-VGT) looked about to be airborne just after 1055.

After earlier departing from SYD late for the flight north, the returning JQ457 from BNK is about to arrive in a wet SYD at around 1230, an hour and 55 minutes late with A320 VH-VGV its aircraft.

JQ964, the 1035 hours SYD north to CNS took off at 1226 with A320 VH-VGN. Arrival will be about an hour late.

JQ660, the 1030 SYD to AYQ (A320 VH-YQW) took off at 1229 with arrival suggested as 1445, 65 minutes late. JQ846, the 1025 scheduled departure to another leisure destination in HTI, is taking off behind JQ660 so it will be about 75 minutes late arriving in the Whitsundays.

The 0955 hours ADL across to SYD, JQ765 was airborne at 1049 with arrival at approximately 1326, 71 minutes late. A320 VH-VGY was the aircraft.

Re: General Jetstar Delays/Cancellations/etc. Discussion

JQ912, the 1210 SYD - TSV did not take off until 1343 hours so it is about an hour late. A320 VH-VFJ is the delayed aircraft.

The 1110 SYD - HBA, JQ721, is lined up for takeoff at about 1352 so should be more than two hours late arriving in HBA. Aircraft is A320 VH-VQM.

JQ735 (1135 SYD - MCY) should take off a bit after 1400 hours, so it will be close to two hours late arriving with A320 VH-VGQ.

Re: General Jetstar Delays/Cancellations/etc. Discussion

On Sunday 5 June with the very wet weather, JQ474, the 1200 MEL - NTL (A320 VH-VQK) took off at 1244 but after a couple of tries has given up on NTL and is instead about to arrive in SYD at roughly 1500 hours. VA1593, the competing MEL - NTL flight did not even get north of SYD and was heading for what one assumed was CBR, but at 1500 hours appears to be south of that airport so it may be heading back to its origin in MEL.

If an AFF member is at NTL perhaps he or she could advise how waiting JQ passengers at NTL get to MEL.

JQ408 (1105 SYD - OOL) took off at 1444 with A320 VH-VGV. Arrival should be at about 1545, two hours and 20 minutes late.

The 1245 hours SYD - MEL, JQ513 is badly late, having been in the sky at 1529 for an expected 1640 hours arrival, two hours and 20 minutes late. A321 VH-VWZ is the operating aircraft.

JQ515, the 1345 hours SYD - MEL (A320 VH-VFL) has departed at about 1555 so should be in MEL some time after 1700, a minimum of 100 minutes late.

Re: General Jetstar Delays/Cancellations/etc. Discussion

Delays thanks to the extremely wet weather are continuing with the Sunday 5 June 2016 JQ32 from SYD to HKT, which has a departure time of 1810, taking off at 2013, meaning a predicted arrival on Monday 6 June of about 0214 hours, an hour and 46 minutes late.B788 VH-VKJ is operating it.

JQ606 from AVV to SYD is one of the four greatest delays observed today, with the flight taking off at 1933 against a departure time of 1533, and consequent anticipated arrival of 2051 or four minutes shy of four hours late. A320 VH-VQH is the plane.

JQ913 from TSV to SYD (A320 VH-VFJ) took off at 1821 against a pushback time of 1520, and is about to become blocks on in SYD at 2042, two hours 42 minutes late.

The 1805 hours MEL - SYD, JQ520, was airborne at 1945 and should arrive at about 2102, 92 minutes late. Aircraft is A321 VH-VWT.

Along with QF494 and QF492 from MEL, JQ724, the 2000 hours HBA to MEL is cutting it fine with touchdown of the latter expected at 2258 hours on Sunday 5 June.

JQ724 had taken off at 2115, about an hour late. VH-VQP, the standard A320 is the aircraft.

The 2150 hours SYD to AVV, JQ611, took off at 2245 hours with A320 VH-VGV.

JQ529 departed SYD for MEL on Sunday 5 June at 2329, well past its scheduled departure time of 2145 and the local airport curfew.

After earlier departing from SYD late for the flight north, the returning JQ457 from BNK is about to arrive in a wet SYD at around 1230, an hour and 55 minutes late with A320 VH-VGV its aircraft.

With all the wind and rain it's a miracle that any flights between the two ports took place at all. There was 217 mm recorded at BNK AWS from 0900 Saturday to 0900 Sunday with wind speeds of 60 kts gusting up to 80 kts from the NE. The runway at BNK is approximately NE - SW

Re: General Jetstar Delays/Cancellations/etc. Discussion

There are a surprising number of cancellations or delays on Monday 6 June 2016 but this may reflect crews either out of position or lacking the mandatory minimum rest period due to yesterday's (Sunday 5 June) delays account extrenmely wet weather, or aircraft out of position.

JQ412 from SYD to OOL is expected to depart at 1310 this afternoon instead of at 1205.

JQ511, the 1210 hours SYD - MEL has been cancelled. The following JQ513, the 1245 hours departure will instead depart at a projected 1340 hours. JQ515 and JQ517, the 1345 and 1400 hours respective departures from SYD to MEL should instead both push back at 1520 hours.

JQ7302, presumably a 'ferry' (empty) working is forecast to depart at the unusually exact time of 1522 instead of 1345 from SYD to MEL.

Another 'ferry' flight, JQ7303 is showing as delayed in its departure ex SYD from 0920 to 1005, its destination being BNE. This may reflect how a JQ flight yesterday bound for NTL ex MEL ended up in SYD.

JQ824, the 1055 SYD - BNE should instead depart at 1130. JQ721, the 1110 SYD down to HBA has been revised to an 1140 departure.

The 1135 SYD - MCY, JQ786 should instead depart at 1210.

Re: General Jetstar Delays/Cancellations/etc. Discussion

On Wednesday 8 June 2016, a day when at least during the mid afternoon AEST most domstic flights are on time or early, international flight JQ7 was airborne from MEL at 1138 despite a pushback time of 1115. If FR24 is correct, it should be in SIN at about 1802, 72 minutes late with aircraft B788 VH-VKI. Indicated speed is 719kmh (388 knots) approaching BME so at just under FL40 there must be some noticeable headwinds.

Re: General Jetstar Delays/Cancellations/etc. Discussion

Later on Wednesday 8 June, JQ525, the 2010 SYD - MEL did not take off until 2129 and hence will not arrive until a forecast 2250 hours, 65 minutes late. A321 VH-VWT is the 'craft.
