Jetstar Delays/Cancellations

I wish I knew. We are supposed to be on the return JQ26 NRT-CNS on 18 Jan 2017. (on a QFF reward booking)...

The aircraft operating JQ25 (CNS-NRT) can either return to CNS as JQ26 or often as JQ12 to OOL

So normally 2 JQ aircraft operating between AUS and NRT. (JQ11/25 and JQ12/26). Addtionally there is QF61/62 which JohnK alluded to between BNE and NRT

I suggest this is just load management. Often the cancellations have been midweek

I don't know what is going on. Got a notification about 4 hours ago, through Google Now, around 24 hours before the flight...

Then around 10 minutes ago, whilst I was on Skype with QANTAS (USA) for about the forth time in a row (after waiting about 30 minutes each time):

So my flight is un-cancelled now according to both Google and QANTAS reservations. And we've wasted 3.5 hours trying to call QANTAS to reconfirm.

As Jq25 (18/1) was cancelled then either JQ26 or JQ12 would be cancelled as well.

Maybe they initially cancelled JQ26 but its now reinstated and would be then cancelling JQ12

On Wednesday 18 January, there must have been an aircraft failure in PER as JQ981, the redeye arrival in MEL due at 0735 will instead be arriving an extraordinary 11 hours late at 1835 tonight.

JQ502, the 0725 hours MEL - SYD was cancelled.

Later on 18 January, JQ574 (1315 hours MEL - BNE, A320 VH-VQZ) took off at 1412. Arrival is predicted for 1505, 35 minutes late.

Adding further, JQ678, the 2140 to DRW is not rpedicted to leave until 2300 hours while JQ968, the late night 2300 hours to PER will instead depart at 'Cinderalla time' (0000.)

We made it back to BNE on QF62. Spent around 5-6 hours on the QANTAS phone line in total.

Got charged 4k + 2500 JPY per person for the privilege.

Jetstar Boeing 787-8 VH-VKA positioned Cairns – Sydney as JQ8991 this afternoon after arriving as JQ16 from Osaka Kansai. The aircraft then operated yesterday’s delayed JQ37/JQ38 Sydney – Denpasar rotation as JQ1037/JQ1038.

The Sydney Telstra network outage was still affecting JQ flights into the early evening ofThursday 2 February 2017 with JQ741, the 1655 hours MEL - LST not departing until 1812. A media outlet referred to how nine JQ flights had to have passengers manually checked in but this looks to be an underestimate of delays which as is so often the case with transport operators appear to have compounded.

On Tuesday 7 February with the deluge in SYD - one example close to the airport was 48 millimetres in an hour at Marrickville - JQ508, the 1015 hours MEL - SYD did not depart until about 1220 hours.

JQ510 on the same route took off at 1202 against a pushback time of 1040.

The 1245 hours lunchtime MEL - SYD JQ512 was worse affected with an in the sky time of about 1502.

JQ523, the 1840 hours Wednesday 8 February SYD down to MEL (A320 VH-VQL) took off at 1936 and should arrive at roughly 2045, half an hour behind schedule.

On Thursday 9 February 2017, JQ28, the 2145 hours Wednesday 8 HKT - SYD that was airborne at 2235 should arrive at 1130, 50 minutes behind schedule with B788 VH-VKJ.

JQ728 from LST up to MEL (A320 Vh-JQX) is an anticipated 59 late, arriving at a predicted 0939 hours. This will delay JQ832 from MEL to PPP from its scheduled 0920 hours departure by an hour.

The 0755 hours from SYD down to AVV, JQ605 did not take off until a much delayed 0923 hours with A320 VH-JQL. Arrival should be at 1039, 69 minutes late. As a result, JQ630 from AVV to OOL, the 1010 hours is expected to depart an hour late.

Continuing with Friday 9 February delays, JQ474 (A320 VH-VQF, the 1205 hours MEL - NTL) took off at 1344. Arrival is predicted as 1514, 99 minutes behind the schedule.

JQ772 (VH-VFN, 1220 hours from MEL across to ADL) was airborne at 1330. It should be at its designated gate or tarmac position at 1406, 56 minutes tardy.

Apparently Jetstar is having another nationwide system outage at the moment. I'm currently in CNS waiting for JQ931 and it doesn't look like we'll be going anywhere any time soon...

Check-in is chaotic.

Just spoke to a friend at JQ - crisis meeting presently taking place to resolve the issue. Systems should be back online, but intermittent problems still occurring.

As one example of delays on Friday 10 February, JQ432, the 1000 MEL - OOL (A320 VH-VGU) took off at 1114. Arrival should be at about 1207, 62 late.

JQ763, the 0900 hours ADL - SYD was airborne at 1050, so SYD arrival for A320 VH-VQU will not be until 1301, 96 minutes tardy.

The TSV - BNE flight due out at 0825 hours, JQ829 (VH-VFH) did not become airborne until 1003. BNE arrival is expected at 1148, 93 minutes late.

The 1000 hours ADL across to MEL, JQ773 is VH-VFN; it was in the sky at 1133 so arrival is predicted for 1305 hours, 75 minutes behind schedule.

JQ508 (1015 MEL - SYD, A320 VH-VGT) was airborne at 1201 so arrival is suggested as 1306, 86 late. The following JQ510 (A321 VH-VWN, the 1040 hours MEL - SYD) did not take off until 1217, so it will not be at its designated gate until 1331, also 86 late.

The 1035 hours SYD - HBA (A321 VH-VWT) had yet to depart as at 1245 hours early this afternoon, so it is likely to be more than two hours late arriving in the Tasmanian capital.

JQ483, the 1100 short flight from BNE down to NTL took off at 'high noon' (1200 hours), so arrival of A320 VH-VFI should be at 1402, 47 late.

The 1110 hours SYD up to OOL, JQ408 did not become airborne until 1307. It should be at its bay at the Gold Coast terminal at 1317 hours this afternoon, 107 minutes behind time.

An 1130 ex SYD to the about to become privately leased MCY airport, JQ786 (VH-VGI) took off at 1302; arrival is predicted as 73 minutes late at 1318 hours.

Most passengers catching a JQ flight this afternoon and early evening can expect it to be delayed as the rotations on a Friday will typically have less time on the tarmac than on say a quieter Tuesday or Wednesday, when there might be occasional two hour breaks between some flights due to overall lower passenger demand.
