Later on 8 May, JQ27 from SYD to HKT, the 1425, took off at 1603 hour. B788 VH-VKD should arrive at 2154 hours, 69 minutes late.

A321 VH-VWQ on the 1510 hours mid afternoon OOL - MEL, JQ439 was airborne at 1607 so arrival in the southern capital should be at about 1715 hours early this evening, 40 minutes behind schedule.

On Wednesday 10 May, JQ58 from DPS to BNE is arriving at roughly 0757 hours, 77 minutes late with B788 VH-VKB.

Wednesday 10 May's afternoon has seen JQ935 (A320 VH-VQG, the 1440 hours CNS down to BNE that was airborne at 1625) in a couple of holding patterns approaching Brisbane that had led to it losing time on the schedule, with arrival suggested as 1912 hours, 142 minutes late.

Other aircraft do not appear to be experiencing the holds that JQ935 is, although others may have been slowed down.

Melbourne Airport suggests it will arrive at 0330 hours on Sunday 14 May, but it has yet to depart HKT. The usual arrival would have been at 0950 hours this morning. This is the second consecutive late JQ18: the arrival on Friday 12 came in at about 1230, 160 minutes behind schedule (and was the same aircraft, VH-VKB.)

UPDATE: As at 1649 local time (1949 AEST), this delayed JQ18 had yet to depart. Arrival time predicted in MEL on Sunday 14 May has become 0430 hours.

On Saturday 13 May, the much delayed JQ18 has yet to depart HKT as at 2045 AEST. It will now supposedly arrive MEL on Sunday 14 at 0530.

JQ7, the Sunday 14 May 1100 hours MEL - SIN took off at 1213; arrival should be at 1753, 63 minutes late. This aircraft (B788 VH-VKB) was the one delayed in HKT yesterday (see above unflattering Fairfax Media article), with it landing at 0500 or so this morning in MEL.

Probably due to what QF WP (moderator) has kindly told us about fog in BNE, JQ810, the 0605 hours first of the morning from SYD to BNE did not take off until 0747 with A320 VH-VFJ. It should arrive at about 0907, 92 late.

JQ560, the 0730 hours MEL - BNE and JQ504, the 0825 hours MEL - SYD have been cancelled.

Later on 15 May, JQ563, the 1020 hours BNE - MEL took off at 1139. A320 VH-VFY is arriving at around 1344, 54 minutes late.

Northbound JQ436 from MEL to OOL, the 1230 hours was airborne at 1316; arrival should be at 1516, 46 minutes late with A321 VH-VWN.

During the evening of 15 May, JQ791 (1605 hours MCY - SYD, A320 VH-VGR) was airborne at a very late 1828. Arrival should be at about 2002 hours, 137 minutes behind schedule.

It appears that as of 1100 hours on Tuesday 16 May, AVV may be closed due to fog.

JQ605, the 0755 hours SYD - AVV was airborne at 0854. A320 VH-VFH performed many circuits above AVV but has diverted to MEL with predicted arrival at 1130, 120 minutes late. One assumes that at some stage AVV passengers may be bussed to MEL and placed on JQ or, less likely, QF flights.

The 0715 hours OOL - MEL, JQ433 did not take off from the Gold Coast until 1108 so arrival is predicted for A320 VH-VQK at 1126, 106 minutes tardy.

Continuing with Tuesday 16 May, the 1545 hours mid afternoon AVV - SYD was in the sky at a much delayed 1743. Arrival in the Opera House city should be at around 1856, 106 minutes late.

On Wednesday 17 May, JQ503, the 0700 SYD - MEL (220 seat A321 VH-VWZ) was not airborne until 0800 (sharp) so arrival is unlikely prior to 0922 hours, 47 minutes late with a medium level of aircraft congestion into MEL not assisting.

The AVV flights are not recorded by the Commonwealth's BITRE for punctuality and cancellation rates because JQ is the sole operator, but they suffer from a goodly number of delays.

On Friday 19 May, JQ17, the 1450 hours MEL - HKT took off at 1536 (B788 VH-VKB) so arrival should be about 35 minutes late at 2120 hours.

In further on 19 May, B788 VH-VKL on JQ37 (1640 hours SYD - DPS) did not take off until 1814 hours. Estimated arrival is 2239 hours, 94 minutes tardy.

JQ442 (the early evening MEL - OOL due out at 1900, but which did not take off until 2005) should arrive at about 2208, 68 minutes late with A320 VH-VQJ.

A321 VH-VWT (1925 hours OOL - SYD that was airborne at 2021, JQ417) is predicted to arrive 41 minutes behind schedule at 2136 tonight.

JQ527 (the 2050 hours SYD - MEL that was not in the sky until 2202 hours, A321 VH-VWZ) is estimated to arrive at 2325, an even hour late.

Saturday 20 May has JQ660 (the 1040 hours from SYD to AYQ, A320 VH-VGF) having taken off at 1115 with a half hour late, 1410 hours arrival suggested.

Also on 20 May, the recently introduced MEL - SGN JQ64 (B788 VH-VKD), the 1515 hours, took off at 1628 with arrival suggested at about 2218, 73 minutes tardy. This flight was formed by JQ2 ex HNL that arrived in MEL about 15 minutes late at 1455, so JQ may be an aircraft short if it has to undertake that sort of 20 minutes until scheduled departure turnaround for international flights.

It looks like VH-VKD was originally planned to fly from MEL to DPS as JQ35, the scheduled 1745 hours departure. JQ35 has been altered to depart six hours late at 2345 with the aircraft on JQ44, the DPS to MEL afternoon and evening flight that should be in MEL about half an hour early at 2145 hours tonight, fortuitous in the circumstances.

JQ212 from AKL to MEL should be about 40 minutes late in arriving at 1815 hours.

On Sunday 21 May, JQ433 from OOL to MEL must have had something go seriously wrong as it has been amended to arrive MEL at 1900 this evening, more than nine hours late.

B788 VH-VKG on the delayed JQ36 from DPS to MEL due to late inbound JQ35 is expected to arrive MEL at 1219 hours instead of 0640 hours. This aircraft should then form JQ17, the 1450 hours to HKT that touch wood should be able to punctually depart.

JQ811 (A320 VH-VGT, the 0820 hours BNE down to SYD) was not airborne until 1131 hours. Arrival is suggested as 1259, 184 minutes late.

The 1015 hours MEL - SYD JQ508 (A320 VH-VGI) did not become airborne until 1203 hours. Arrival should be at around 1314 hours, 94 late.

JQ734 (1200 'high noon' LST - MEL, VH-VFI) that was in the sky at 1302 hours) should arrive at approximately 1357 this afternoon, 52 minutes late. As a result, JQ564 (1335 hours MEL - BNE) is instead expected to depart at about 1420.

JQ511, the 1210 hours SYD - MEL is an expected 90 minutes late with predicted arrival mid afternoon at 1515 hours.
