Later on Thursday 8 June, JQ956, the 1530 hours SYD - CNS (A320 VH-VQU that took off at 1700) should arrive at around 1941 hours, 61 minutes behind schedule.

JQ476 (A320 VH-VFF, the 1630 hours mid afternoon MEL - NTL) did not take off until 1746, so arrival is expected at 1906 hours, 66 minutes tardy.

On Friday 9 June, A320 VH-VQL on JQ771 (0615 early morning ADL to MEL) did not become airborne until 0811 hours so expected arrival at 0948 will be 98 minutes behind the schedule.

JQ944, the 0610 hours MEL - CNS (A321 VH-VWX) that took off at 0652 is predicted to arrive FNQ at 1004 hours, 34 minutes tardy.

Later on 9 June, with Sydney rainy, there is a lot of holding going on with some interesting flight patterns. JQ821 (1720 BNE down to SYD that was in the sky at 1764, about 20 minutes late) should arrive with A320 VH-VFP at around 1955 hours, an hour late.

JQ522 (A321 VH-VWW, the 1815 hours MEL - SYD) was airborne at 1931. It is suggested as arriving at 2104, 84 late.

JQ417 (1925 hours from OOL down to SYD that took off at 2021 hours with A321 VH-VWQ) should arrive at around the 2131 hours mark, 36 minutes behind schedule.

On Saturday 10 June, JQ602 (first of the morning at a scheduled 0600 hours departure from AVV up to SYD) did not become airborne until 0938. A320 VH-VFK will arrive at roughly 1055 hours, 210 minutes tardy.

Avalon was fogged in this morning and is forecasted the same tomorrow.

The Avalon based A320 has been 4hrs behind the whole day but they will make it up by getting a standby crew to operate a SYD-OOL-SYD and simply turn around in Sydney and go back to Avalon for the scheduled 2200 departure ontime!

A crisp Sunday morning, 11 June 2017 in MEL sees JQ472 (A320 VH-VQQ) not having taken off until 0716 for its trip to NTL; arrival should be 56 minutes tardy at 0841.

JQ22 (0915 hours CNS - MEL, B788 VH-VKJ) was airborne at 1046; arrival should be at 1338 hours, 63 minutes late. It had arrived on time or slightly early ex KIX into CNS at around 0500 on 11 June so not sure why it was so late departing for the southern capital.

The fog materialised later despite wind at 0500 AEST, so on Monday 12 June JQ504, 0825 hours MEL - SYD (A320 VH-VQC) did not take off until 0931. Consequent arrival should be at 1045 hours, 55 minutes tardy. However the following JQ506, the 0915 hours is only a predicted five minutes late with A321 Vh-VWW so once again it shows on days with many delays what a lottery taking a particular flight can be.

The 0750 hours BNE - SYD JQ815 took off at 0858 with A320 VH-JQX and is arriving at 1011, 46 minutes tardy.

JQ811 (0820 hours BNE - SYD, A320 VH-VQP) was airborne at 0917 with suggested arrival around 1037, 42 minutes behind schedule.

JQ507 (0825 hours SYD down to MEL) was cancelled.

The 0855 hours SYD - NAN (JQ119, A320 VH-VGP) was still just taxiing at 1012 so it will be at least an hour late.

JQ660 (A320 VH-VQC, the 1040 hours tourist-friendly timed SYD to AYQ) was also still taxiing at 1152, so will be at least 45 minutes tardy into 'The Rock' (not to be confused with the township of the same name between Albury and Wagga Wagga.

Later on Monday 12 June 2017, JQ702 (A320 VH-VQJ, the 1015 hours HBA to MEL that was in the sky at 1228 hours this afternoon) is arriving at roughly 1327, 117 minutes behind schedule.

The 1155 hours BNE - NTL JQ483 (A320 VH-JQX) was airborne at 1416 so arrival has become 1513 hours, 123 minutes late.

In the mid evening of Monday 12 June, JQ465, the 1900 hours BNK down to MEL that was airborne at 1954 is arriving at around 2149 hours, 34 minutes late with A320 VH-VFV.

In further on Wednesday 14 June, JQ19 from MEL to HKT is to be delayed in its departure from 1835 hours to an estimated 2000 tonight. There is no obvious inbound JQi flight that is late leading to this.

JQ440 (1700 hours MEL up to OOL that was airborne at 1737, A321 VH-VWZ) is estimated to arrive at 1930, half an hour behind schedule.

The 1720 hours from BNE down to SYD, JQ821 (A320 VH-VFD) should arrive at around 1934 hours this evening, 39 minutes late, as it was not in the sky until 1820 hours. It is following JQ823, the scheduled 1800 hours departure (VH-VQC) that was airborne from BNE at 1817.

UPDATE: JQ19 took off from MEL at 2026 hours on 14 June and should arrive in HKT at about 0217 hours, 107 minutes late. It had to work down empty from SYD as JQ8991, taking off from the mainland harbour city at 1720 and landing in MEL at 1829, so that explains the delay. Earlier it had landed in SYD as JQ32 (also ex HKT) at 1327 hours, so it may have been 'pinched' at relatively short notice to work down to MEL and on to HKT.

Continuing with 14 June, flagship JQ1, the 1640 hours MEL - HNL (B788 VH-VKL) took off at 1728 so same day arrival has been delayed until a predicted 0743 hours, 38 minutes late.

On Thursday 15 June 2017, JQ602, the early morning 0600 hours AVV - SYD is again delayed by fog, with it looking like A320 VH-XSJ (which has operated this flight for four consecutive days) may be able to depart at about 0655. Just how JQ knows such an exact time if there is fog around is a mystery as one would have thought that fog is notoriously difficult to predict either in occurrence or lifting.

However that is better in one sense than the JQ situation in MEL where JQ500, the identically timed 0600 MEL - SYD has been cancelled.

JQ472 (0615 hours MEL - NTL) was expected to depart half an hour late but this later became a projected 0730 hours departure.

UPDATE: AFF member Flightstatus advises these delays are due to fog in SYD although as at 0700 hours planes appeared to be still landing and taking off there.

In further on Thursday 15 June, JQ707, the 1040 hours midmorning MEL - HBA is predicted to depart 75 minutes late.

The relatively new SGN - MEL offering, JQ64, came in to its destination almost two hours late on 15 June. This is delaying departure of the 1305 hours MEL - BKK JQ29 to an expected 1335 hours.

Also on Thursday 15 June, JQ961, the early morning 0700 hours CNS - ADL (A320 VH-VQW) is an extraordinary number of hours late, not having taken off until 1429 this afternoon. It should arrive in the mainland wine capital at 1702 instead of 0945, 437 minutes late.

The 1700 hours from MEL up to OOL, JQ440, was airborne at 1842 with arrival of A321 VH-VWU predicted at 2034 tonight, 94 minutes behind schedule. This will delay the returning JQ445, the timetabled 1940 hours ex OOL to about 2110.

Friday 16 June sees JQ603 (0700 hours SYD - AVV) not having become airborne until 0742 hours. A320 VH-VQZ should arrive at 0905, half an hour tardy. In turn this will delay JQ632, the 0905 hours AVV to ADL and its return flight JQ633 and then JQ604, the 1240 hours from AVV back up to SYD.

JQ602, the 0600 AVV - SYD was cancelled this morning. Once again this shows what an unreliable alternate airport AVV is during some months of the year to MEL.

The overnight HKT - MEL JQ18 should arrive at 1039, 49 minutes late. Aircraft is B788 VH-VKK.

Later on Friday 15 June, JQ768, the 1510 hours from SYD across to ADL (A320 VH-VGT) was airborne at 1556; arrival should be at 1722, 32 minutes late.

On Saturday 17 June, JQ187 (1720 hours OOL - CHC that was airborne at 2000 hours, A320 VH-VFF) should arrive at 0053 hours on Sunday 18, 138 minutes late.
