Jetstar Delays/Cancellations

JQ792 (Tuesday 1 May 2018, the 0700 hours MEL - MCY that took off bang on 0800) should arrive at 1004, 49 minutes behind its schedule. VH-VQJ is the A320.

The 0735 hours MEL up to SYD JQ502 (A320 VH-VFT) took off at 0830 with arrival suggested at 0944, 44 late. Not the punctuality of a 'very fast train.'

Tuesday 2 May 2018 has JQ665 (1255 hours lunchtime AYQ down to MEL that was airborne at 1346) arriving at 1636, 31 minutes late with A320 VH-VFD.

On Friday 4 May 2018, JQ821 (1720 hours BNE - SYD, VH-VGI, another A320) took off at 1809 so expected arrival looks to be 1928, 33 late.

The 1725 hours SYD down to MEL, JQ517, took off at 1813, with A321 VH-VWX suggested as arriving at 1930, an even half an hour behind schedule.

JQ61 (1520 hours SYD - SGN) was not airborne until 1740. It should be at its destination tarmac, near a gate, at 2318 tonight, 133 minutes tardy.

B788 VH-VKH on JQ36, the redeye from DPS down to MEL is arriving on Sunday 6 May 2018 at 0823 hours, 103 minutes late. JQ43, the 0915 hours MEL - DPS is therefore predicted to depart half an hour behind schedule.

On Monday 7 May 2018, JQ954, the 1045 hours SYD - CNS has been cancelled.

A321 VH-VWW on the 0820 hours from LST up to MEL (JQ730) is arriving at 0958, 33 minutes late.

JQ824, the 1100 hours SYD up to BNE should depart at the very exact time of 1128 but arrival is not predicted until 40 minutes behind schedule at 1310 hours.

A321 VH-VWZ, the 0855 hours MEL - SYD (JQ524) at 1003 remained queuing for departure so it wilol be at least 45 minutes late into SYD.

In further on Monday 7 May 2018, JQ475, the 0825 hours NTL down to MEL that did not take off until 0939 (A320 VH-XJE) is arriving at 1106 hours, 61 minutes late.

Redeye JQ28 from HKT down to SYD (B788 VH-VKE) should arrive on Tuesday 8 May at 1126, 81 minutes behind the timetable.

Much later on Tuesday 8 May 2018, JQ479 (1835 hours NTL down to MEL, A320 VH-VQW) is arriving at 2201 hours, 106 minutes late.

To employ an overused term, JQ35, the second of the MEL - DPS "double dailies" on Wednesday 9 May 2018 (B788 VH-VKD, the 1745 hours) took off at 1846. Expected arrival is 2232 hours, 47 late.

JQ753 (A320 VH-VQA, the 1700 hours BNE - LST that took off at 2100) looks to be arriving at 2235 hours, 175 minutes late. Consequently JQ754, the 2010 hours ex LST back to BNE is unlikely to depart much before 2305, meaning a BNE arrival well after midnight.

Thursday 10 May 2018's JQ502 (0735 hours MEL - SYD that did not take off until 0858 hours, A320 VH-VGH) should arrive at 1001 hours, 61 minutes late.

In further on Thursday 10 May 2018, JQ29 (early afternoon 1305 hours MEL - BKK that did not become airborne until 1423 hours, B788 VH-VKD) should arrive in the Thai capital at 2028 hours, 68 minutes late.

More on Thursday 10 May 2018, as JQ609 (A320 VH-VQM) did not take off from SYD until 1927, 62 minutes after its scheduled pushback. AVV arrival should be at 2038, 38 minutes tardy. Will be very chilly on the tarmac.

JQ35 (1745 hours MEL - DPS) is again late with its 1745 departure becoming takeoff at 1942 for B788 VH-VKA. Arrival should be at 2324 tonight, 94 minutes late. This will probably delay JQ36, the redeye.

Yesterday, this B788 had taken off from HNL at 1039 (despite a timetabled 0800 hours departure for JQ2) and this arvo, it diverted to AVV. Not sure why. This presumably accounts for tonoght's delay.

Also on Thursday 10 May 2018, JQ527 (2040 hours mid evening SYD down to MEL) did not take off until about 2315 with A320 VH-VQF, so it must have obtained a curfew dispensation.

Friday 11 May 2018 sees JQ784, the 0930 hours SYd - MCY that took off at 1023 (A320 VH-JQG) likely to arrive at 1148 hours, 43 minutes late.

AFFer Aviator Insight posted in the VA forum about forecast crosswinds at SYD today and commented that if these eventuate, SYD may go onto single runway operations. This means substantial delays for passengers.

Melbourne deserves the satirical 'SMH' title of 'bleak city' on Friday 11 May as it is cold and rainy.

JQ474 from MEL to NTL is expected to depart 37 minutes late at 1247 hours.

The 1245 hours MEL down to HBA, JQ709 should depart half an hour tardy.

JQ37 from MEL up to SYD (its initial sector) is thye 1345 hours but it is not predicted to depart until (with very accurate timing) 1504 hours, meaning arrival at 1649 this late afternoon, 99 minutes late. JQ18, thye timetabled 0950 hours arrival at MEL from HKT arrived at about 1225 so that is probably the reason for the delay, although inbound JQ8 from SIN was cancelled this morning.

The scheduled 1640 hours continuation of JQ37 to DPS out of SYD will be at least 80 minutes late leaving.

Updating Friday 11 May 2018, JQ720 (the scheduled 1345 hours HBA up to SYD that was in the sky at 1437 with A320 VH-VGU) looks to be arriving 31 minutes late at 1606 hours.

JQ950, the 1425 hours mid afternoon from MEL up to CNS took off at about 1544 so arrival will be around an hour late. VH-VWW is the A321.

B788 VH-VKH on the delayed JQ37 (1345 hours MEL - SYD - DPS) finally took off from the latter, with winds having been strong, at 1546. SYD arrival will be at around the 1705 mark, meaning likely departure for Bali at 1825, 105 minutes late.

JQ514 (mid afternoon 1520 hours from MEL up to SYD with A321 Vh-VWN) was still waiting for takeoff clearance at 1656 so its arrival will be at least 80 minutes late.

Also on Friday 11 May, as at 1702 hours JQ477 from NTL down to MEL, the 1420 hours that took off at 1556 was in a holding pattern in the usual spot above Mt Buller (Vic) so its arrival will be at around 1825, 85 minutes late.

More on Friday 11 May 2018 sees JQ522, the scheduled 1815 hours MEL - SYD that was airborne at 1910 with A321 VH-VWT suggested as arriving at around the 2027 hours mark, making it 47 minutes tardy.

JQ525 on Friday 11 May 2018, the 1915 hours SYD down to MEL took off at 1953, about 25 minutes late but arrival was not until 2124, 34 late. Aircraft was A320 VH-VQP.

JQ465 (A320 VH-JQG, the 1900 hours from leisure destination BNK to MEL that took off at 2042) is arriving at 2244 hours, 89m late.

The 2120 hours MEL - ADL (JQ776) was in the sky at 2209 so it should arrive at 2240, half an hour late. Taskmaster is VH-VQP.

On Saturday 12 May 2018, SYD is down to a single runway so delays will be the flavour of the morning.

JQ524, the 0855 hours MEL - SYD is estimated to depart 65 minutes late with arrival at 1133 (very exact!), 73 minutes tardy.

JQ506, the 0915 hours northbound ex MEL is delayed until a predicted 1030 so its destination of SYD will be reached at 1201, 81 late.

The 0755 hours SYD - AVV, JQ605 (A320 VH-VGY) had still not taken off by 0910 hours, although it was advanced in the queue, so arrival at 'Geelong' will be at least 50 minutes late.

JQ502, the 0735 hours MEL up to SYD took off at 0816 with A320 VH-VGJ. Arrival should be at about 0937, 37 minutes late.

The 0800 hours OOL down to SYD, JQ403 was in the sky at 0906. A320 VH-VQW looks to be arriving at 1018 hours, 48 minutes tardy.
