Still quite a few years away (~2030s), but T5 has been rebooted and will be as big as T1/2/3/4 combined plus a new train connection. It’s unclear what interconnections there will? Its quite a long way from T1 and would involve going under the cross taxiways south of T2/T3. Not impossible in SIN but I have never seen a plan for a train.

Because T4 was originally a low cost carrier terminal, and didn't warrant any kind of frills.Wonder why Changi didn't build a train connection to T4
If you're talking about the days when it was the budget terminal then sure.Because T4 was originally a low cost carrier terminal, and didn't warrant any kind of frills.
And you don't even get the full service package (as my friend recently found out on the AY codeshare)!
Just what premium long haul QF and AY customers want, to fly JQ half way to Europe hidden under a QF or AY code.
clearly why Scoot remains in T1.Jetstar Asia has withered away into nothing. Entered the pandemic with 17 aircraft. Now down to 7, those missing all got sent to Australia and added onto VH Register, plus a few back to the lessor. I really don't think they are going back.
Scooter will have nearly 50 A320/1s by the end of the year. Plus 20 787s. Huge operation in SIN.
Definitely a shame to see what has happened there.Jetstar Asia has withered away into nothing. Entered the pandemic with 17 aircraft. Now down to 7
They never really even announced they were retreating. I guess once all the A321s arrive they might send some A320s back up. However I reckon they would send them to Japan before Singapore. Are there plans to grow 3K again?
Having travelled to Bangkok via Singapore, the JQ experience there was never any good. You need to go through security again, even though you remain airside at Singapore, and throw out your expensive airport water so that you can buy another in Singapore. Then, the lounge was only ever open from around 6PM-10PM anyway. The Jetstar flights all arrived at Singapore in the middle of the day.

T4 does have centralised security which means a slightly better experience departing.Thats the same for all airlines flying out of SIN. T4 might actually have centralised security, which theorectically would require security check prior to boarding the transfer bus from T1/2/3.
Currently it's opening at ~3pm and closing just before midnight when QF1 to LHR boards.Pre covid the lounge used to open at 2pm i think

Indeed, and it's a vast improvement over the other terminals in that regard.
Booking system has also been updated. It shows that the JQ operated 787 flights to MEL will remain in T1 whilst the 3K flights will move to T4.JQ has updated its website accordingly:
Seems strange to keep JQ in T1!Booking system has also been updated. It shows that the JQ operated 787 flights to MEL will remain in T1 whilst the 3K flights will move to T4.
I think it has something to do with 3K only being allocated narrow body gates in T4. T4 only has 4 gates capable of handling wide body aircraft which are most likely already allocated to Cathay and Korean Air.Seems strange to keep JQ in T1!
