On the subject of Delta flights, have you been following this FT thread about FB (KLM & AF) members and upgrades on Delta?

I've been trying to decide whether there's any chance of getting an upgrade on an indirect routing from JFK to LAX on a Saturday as a FB Plat.

Tried this and the only date on the card (underneath my member number) is 12/1969:!:

:confused: I guess I will have to wait until the card turns up and see if quality control picks it up?

Nope, but I'm reading it now. Got 4 flights with them in 4 days, should be interesting to see what I can swing.

edit: I've just associated my flying blue number with my booking, and was able to do seat selection (including exit row), and according to the link below, I'm now eligible for automatic upgrades 5 days out from flying :)

Interestingly, I just logged into the Flying Blue website, and it is showing me as a Platinum member :D since the 3rd of May. No email received, so it's worth checking the site if you are waiting for the status match.

From what I've read, FB Plat is not the same as Platinum Medallion with SkyMiles. So that link does not indicate when you'll be able to get your upgrades. :(

Of course, I'd be happy to be corrected on this point, but the long FT thread on this subject suggests that FB members (of any level) are below all levels of SkyMiles/Medallion in upgrade priority.

Bugger. Oh well, I was trying to find some sort of table to map the two, and couldn't locate one. I was just assuming a straight mapping, especially considering they have another level above Platinum.

Applied Mar 31. Email received today. Checked account as per QF009's instruction and expiry 3/2013! One happy camper!
 
Finally my new FB WP card and bag tags arrived in the mail on Friday. The little leather straps that are supposed to hold the bag tags on look like they would break off pretty easily.

Not too sure when the card/tags will get any use so will store them away for the time being.
 
Well, my status match packet just arrived in today's post. Not the most exciting of membership packets doing the rounds but at least the luggage tags and their leather straps are decent and reusable:

With the NGCI tags it’s approaching it, but with all the others it’s lighter than air :p

No need to post my pic now, with it being exactly the same :p

Though I thought the tags were a little more of cheap quality (and the card). I’ve also had better leather straps from Marco Polo Club.
 
Still no email for me, even though I'm showing Plat for the next 2 years on my account. Wonder if my card/tags will turn up?
