KLM matching Status

I got my status match on Thursday.. Lets see what I get in the mail!

I got upgraded to Plat (found out by checking account) but did not receive an email / letter notification:shock:

Got my Plat match today. Email was in English, and interestingly enough it came with an attachment, which was the original scan of my card that I had to submit for the online form!

Nothing in the mail yet, neither Ivory nor precious metal colour.

Now to work out how and when to use any of the benefits, or use the status as a bargaining tool.

Can't remember if I'd posted here but I got matched to Flying Blue Platinum status on Apr 19. I applied on Mar 24. My confirmation email also came through in French.

My status is valid through Mar 2013.

My email was in both French and bad Fringlish.
No sign of card yet, but then I have moved house and Aus Post mail redirection doesn't work well!

My email was in English - but cant find anywhere it states how long the status is for. I just logged into my account and cant seem to find the info there either?

Hmmm...I applied 31 Mar (nothing like cutting it fine ), and still Ivoire status. The Easter break has hopefully slowed things down a bit and the match will come through in the next few days (I hope).

Is it still possible to take up this offer by chance?

Sadly, no. The link to the ABT article still works, but the link there will eventually get you to Statut Match Language Fin, where the advice is:

Registrations for the Status Match offer are now closed.
If you registered before the 31st of March 2011, your application is being processed by our Flying Blue Service Centre. Please take into consideration that due to the large number of applications, your file will be processed within six to eight weeks to come. :(

Where did you find out how long your status lasted for, as all the early reports alluded to a year-end expiry date for all matches?

Log into your account. Ignore the drop down box. Click on Flying Blue on the main page navigation and you get a page identifying the benefits of the scheme. On the left hand side you'll see a list of menu options. Click on Manage my account. You'll get to request a new card or print out a copy of your card. Click on the option to print out your card and you'll see the expiry date on your card.

Based on what I've seen over at mFT, it would appear that you get at least 12 months of the matched status on top of the balance of the remaining membership year, much like QFF. If you'd gotten status matched in March 2011, your status will expire in March 2012 as you'd get your 12 months worth of status. If you get confirmation of your new status from April 2011, your status will last through March 2013 to ensure that you have at least 12 months of status. Some things are worth waiting for. ;)

Nice one, thanks for the tips, expiry for me 03/2013. :)

Thanks QF009 - for some reason I did do what you said last night, but for the love of small furry animals why did I not try observing that a membership card would have the expiry date printed on it?!??

I'm 03/2013 as well...so hopefully will get something out of it by that time. I wonder how they account for qualification (I assume that if you have any qualifying flights this year, it will be "reset" in 01/2012 and then to maintain your status for the remainder of 2013 you must achieve the qualification criteria during the course of 2012).

Awesome thanks March 2013 for me too!

Mine is also showing 03/2013! Now I have to wait for another status match from other airlines to go through the process again ......

I’m a 2012 as I was one of the first to sign up, and got my match much earlier, oh well, at least it lasts a bit longer than the end of the year like I thought.
