Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

Congratulations on reaching LTG. It's amazing how quickly those SC accumulate.....it took me 10 years to hit 3,000SC and then only 6 years to fly over the 14,000 mark.

Will we see you crediting to Aanother FF scheme?

I dont think so.

My goal is Lifetime Platinum. Yes I know it is not there now but there have been a few subtle hints by Qantas loyalty and a few higher tier FFers on AFF. I have nothing to lose.

Congrats JohnK.
As a UK resident, Qantas shows me little love, in fact 90% of their offers don't apply to me, or are misplaced. 35 sc from retaining WP for another year (end Feb), and I question why I even care about QF. Some serious pondering happening.

same here for mr Myrna!

Those hard yards of regular commuting really must be taxing, not sure if I could do it!

Well done JohnK.

Congratulations - that's some achievement! Hope things don't get enhanced out of the program now you have LTG and access to OW lounges! I've got a way to go to LTG and with the current travel pattern not sure I will make WP again this year :(

Congrats JohnK, and you've done it the hard way too. I think my partner will reach LTG next year sometime, pretty much economy transit too.

Congratulations JohnK! You beat me to it. I won't be reaching LTG till May this year. Like you, I'll be flying VA abit more to maintain my VA Gold after that.

Clearly this was something important to the OP so good luck to him. But...

What are the benefits of lifetime gold for a person who regularly qualifies for platinum? (Apart from the fact you never have to worry about requalifying but that doesnt seem to be an issue for many of you). Seems to me that it is a benefit from flying that you use when you are no longer flying much!!

personally I have just ticked over 1000 lifetime status credits so I won't be getting anything anytime soon!

Like Life Time qualifications - retirement creeps up on you.

With the changes to the AA program, I will never see LT PLT there. Pity QF LT Silver isn't worth a bit more... 27% on the way to that.

Happy wandering

Fred

Congratulations john,

that's a lot of time flying, so you deserve it.

hopefully our paths will cross again one day and we can meet in the lounge.

Well done John...you need to update your signature. Another 3-4 years to go by my calculations to get to LTG! FWIW, at the recent QF Rockpool lunch, Lesley Grant said that QF had no plans to have LTP level or change the SCs needed to achieve LTG.

if you've achieved that flying as a result of work, then one day that will vanish. LTG = no fees for Q Club Membership. Ever.

Congrats!

I'm hoping to hit LTS this week :D

When you no longer fly as much to requalify for Platinum, or even Gold, it can be a good way to lock you into flying Qantas, as you get some benefits still. So it's a good thing for Qantas to offer, for you, it's lounge access, so that's probably good too.

Well done JohnK!

By end of this year, I will be joining you at the LTG club.

Question to all LTG'ers - re all discussions about quality of services and also the possible sale of QFF, upon achieving LTG, do you continue with QF or start building relationships with the other carriers?
