Nice work. I'm still some years away from achieving LTS though if I can continue to retain WP it won't take that long.

Making the most of DSC promos when they come along helps a lot.

If you fly paid J MEL-SYD-DXB-LHR return on Double Status Credits you could get 1380 SC (including loyalty bonuses). Do that 5 years and you'd reach LTG from LTS almost on that travel alone. I haven't flown to LHR on DSC (let alone via SYD) yet but I'm thinking about doing it sometime in the future to get the extra SCs.

Now celebrating achieving LTS at the First Class lounge in SYD... Halfway there!

Congrats, hell of a way to celebrate being in the SYD F Lounge.

Wow! Celebrating in the FLounge is amazing.

LTS may not be as far away as I once thought.

Wow! Celebrating in the FLounge is amazing.

I mentioned it to them (inadvertently) and they gave me a bottle of the Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut but now I'm worried it'll be confiscated from me in SYD or AKL as I'm doing a status run with hand luggage only...

Better drink it then!

I decided to clear immigration at AKL and check in my luggage but only after having to sleep overnight in the terminal until check in opened the next morning - all for a bottle of champagne... Sigh!

Finally achieved LTS. Took 5 years of some serious Y flying.

Now for LTG.
Brilliant and only 5 years which is faster than I got to LTS.

I know Siliver doesn’t get you a lot but it’s a start and given your flying you will be at least Gold, maybe Platinum, for a while. Now for the LTG which I’m going to fall back to for the first time next February instead of annual ‘earned’ gold or platinum status.

I know Siliver doesn’t get you a lot ...

I'd actually argue it's the sweet spot of the program! Reasonable access to call centre support (call back rather than having to wait hours on hold), business class check-in, access to preferential award space, free exit rows on Cathay, advance 7-day access to BA seats (substanbtial savings). And... no golden handcuffs! You're not tied for life to flying oneworld but can take advantage of the best fares or award redemptions across OW, star and skyteam.

Very good points making @teamhamsandwich LTS a good achievement so he/she can enjoy the above benefits.

Congrats to all.Something I will never acheive having been in QFF for 26 years and still not even half way to LTS.

With status runs, DSC international J long haul indirect you could make progress very quickly.

I’m about one big trip or so away from LTS but currently being WP there’s no rush for me to do that trip as even if I hardly fly QF it’ll be years before I’d fall below PS.
