After the call I checked both my and the girlfriend's account, and our bookings now have the " :!: Request for upgrade from economy to business etc. "

Ok sweet, upgrades requested both SYD-LAX and LAX-SYD.

3 different phone calls to QF and 3 different replies/responses.

It's the number for WP frequent flyer service centre. Probably not much use to you if you aren't one as you still have to key in your number before being connected.

Just rang the premium desk (I am a WP)...after checking for a few minutes the answer came back no problem.

So I am registered for a J points upgrade SYD- L.A. return in April but the big question is will they come through?...no harm in trying and it does make me feel better that I can at least apply.

still not working for me either - im guessing they will re-send the email, apologising for technical issues, when its all resolved, im sure someone is getting their cough kicked, its their worst case scenario sending an email to all WP's and not having check the IT aspects of the offer....

QF premium said it isn't working - technical glitch.

Just call and they will place your request without a service fee (for WP anyway...)

I sure was when I booked. Now i'm thinking of the points (and I could have booked more JASAs closer to "renewal" time if I was close to retaining Gold).

Indeed I can upgrade.

Upgrade for 16k points PER-ADL or 8k ADL-MEL. Pity they can't be combined to get the 16k rate like you would for PER-MEL!

Considering the ADL-MEL as I have a 1hr 50m stop over...would be nice to go up to the QP and get something to eat etc. Even if there is no J lounge.

Question - If I am in J for the ADL-MEL leg, will I then be able to get my bags J-tagged in PER?

Oh, and also, if in Y from PER-ADL, any chance of me getting into the QP if my ADL-MEL flight is in J? The T&C's seem to be open to a couple of interpretations in this regard...any experiences?

edit2: never mind, got a bit mixed up and the U inventory is only available PER-ADL. Not wasting 16k on that! Spewing I couldn't pick up the direct PER-MEL flight...U inventory available oh well!

Interestingly I have a CBR-SYD-FRA return trip in may. the SYD-FRA outward leg i can choose to upgrade, the CBR-SYD i can't and never would for a 30 minute flight, except if it was like 2k points but its 5k.

However the return flights say upgrade not available til 19th March, which is the day after this bonus upgrade period expires...... wonder whats going on there. Anyway got my upgrade in, even though i got the exit row seat as a fallback.

No love here from QF with the email, then again I only have a couple of domestic whY one TT whY and a J rtn SYD-HKG -LHR. Maybe I'm on the Altea special op-up list ;p

My A380 flight on June 10 is available for an upgrade but I have seat 80A so don't really want to waste the points on moving (or should I? - haven't done business in the A380)

My 747 flight on June 18 is not available for upgrade until March 20 - 3 days after the promotion finishes!!!!! That's the one I wanted to upgrade!!! I have a bulkhead seat but not sure how much room is in that particular aircraft.
