Perhaps book BA or CX and hope they recognise your QF/OneWorld status and offer an op-up .

And look for daytime flights - you can always time it to stay overnight along they way to dose up on a good night's sleep in a decent hotel room ... or bar.

If you really want pain, take CX and their hard-shell Y seats.:shock:

On the plus side, CX are pretty good at coming forth with op-ups for OWE.

Surely in the spirit of the bet, any offer of an op-up would have to be declined?

His son won't be happy with any op-up, he will have to do the hard yards:p Look forward to the TR... And good on ya bossreggie for sticking to your bet and donating:)

In the OP, bossreggie says he has to fly Y, not book Y.
Well its a matter of making sure he is "seen to fly Y". An op-up at the gate may not be seen by those using the F class priority boarding line ;).

And at least flying BA or CX would allow FLounge access to help deaden/desensitise the journey.

I'm thinking of leaving within the next 14 days.

If you are interested then the following is important!!

I want this trip documented....Pics and Words!!

I need to have copious quantities of alcohol for my journey.

You can not portray me in a bad light!! (Yes I can be obnoxious... But That's cos I HATE flying)

There is a $3K budget each for air fares!

FINALLY.... I have to spend $20k for my sons' ticket. That is my usual fare to Europe. For 2 of us it would be $40K

Every $ I save under this amount I will donate to the Christchurch Earthquake appeal!

If ur interested in the trip please put ur best foot forward over the next day or 2.

NO PM's This is totally transparent.

When I have my final 3 candidates I will ask a Mod to help me with a poll.. The person with most votes will be the poor person who has to accompany me to London!!

Lawless has put up a great submission however I'm keeping my hat in the ring. I was thinking that perhaps two AFFer's could do the trip with a life size (but foldable) cardboard cutout of bossreggie. Not only snap photos of the cutout inflight but also in London. But I don't think that quite fits with the bet.

My idea is to make this a week long adventure. After the flight I'll take challenges from AFF. I could have a budget of say 200 pounds a day (I'll be stopping with friends) and I'll be tasked with a photo of certain places/things each day. My one request will be some Paris challenges.

I offer the Boss some good company. I'm well presented - I work in a job where I have to wear hosiery (even with pants) and have my hair and make up immaculate. Yes, I can take the time off at short notice.

I'll let you have the better of our 2 seats. I'll do sychronised reclines with you to annoy the people behind us.

There's not much more I can add, but did I mention we're friends on facebook?

Karen

I am most definitely looking forward to the TR. :)

Oh, this TR will be a doozy!

In the spirit of the bet, I think your son should be involved in this Shaun ;) I'm sure he'd love to see dad on an oversold, 30 year old 767, 29 hour Royal Brunei flight.

Well a good start would be to avoid any routing on Royal Brunei :)

Just think if your son suggested flying on a *gasp* dry airline :D

Mr Ewing!!

Do not speak of such things!!

That is just HORRIBLE!! :(

I have to admit, I'm loving this thread.. Havent been to Europe in 15years, but I would almost want to come on this trip to watch.. ;)

Sorry Boss, but this is just gold!!

Any chance you can pick an airline with in-air internet access so we could perhaps rig up a live stream of the ordeal? Charge AFFers pay-to-view and donate the income to charity...
