...and yes you can do it in multiple sectors.
Arrive in GIG 00:15, stay overnight.
Depart the next day around 8pm, arrive in LAX in the evening.
Early morning departure, yada, yada yada.
You'll be fine.

Anat0l, he is in his final year of study so no way he can go, or should go, yes anat0l does a great trip report so I give you points for that.
Karens, Can Karen get out of a work, no idea,
Notzac, he would be a good guy to travel, if you can spare the week away from work. does a nice trip report.
Lawlass, having met Lawlass only once she sounds fun to travel with, you definitely won't be bored traveling, and I think is the front runner for this gig.

One of the bad or good things about traveling is when you do it alone it can be rather boring, I have had more interesting chats with seatmates in economy than in any of the premium classes on longhaul flights.

Business or First Class is a great way to travel but not so much fun when doing it yourself.

Traveling with someone else in economy will be a great trip.

I'll keep it short as I've got a flight to catch as we speek. I'm a professional photographer on my way home from a six month photo safari across Asia and the South Pacific. In my real life I'm a food photographer and can't get enough of a good drink. Flight beverages and and a long list of movies for a long haul are a must. Your son (and everyone on the forum) will have plenty of documentation of all the embarrassing moments in the cattle car and pedestrian travel experience. Please vote for me and the results will be well worth it. Do it for Bossreggie!

I'm a casual so very easy to get time off work. The recent unlimited overtime was so draining that I started knocking it back :shock:.
