Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

(Special thanks to Princess Fiona for suggesting this new thread.)

Hi all,

Can anyone advise if QF WP flying J from NRT to BNE has access to the new Emirates lounge at Narita? Open to suggestions as to which lounge to settle in, given i only have about 1.5 hours.

If you're flying OW the JAL First Class Lounge in the main building (before you cross over to the satellite terminal) is pretty good.

Just checking if my Qantas Classic award business flights from Sydney to Hobart allow access to business lounge in Sydney domestic .
Checked some older threads which confirmed they did, but these were from quite awhile ago.

Cheers

On departure from SYD yes, on arrival no.

Hi guys,
My partner and I are flying with Emirates as an award booking, codeshare through Qantas FF. MEL - DXB then on to Madrid. There were no award J or F seats available to Dubai when booking, so we've had to book economy. However, we are flying First class from Dubai to Madrid. Does this grant lounge access when leaving Melbourne? Obviously the First lounge in Dubai is no problem. The connecting flights are only 2 hours apart. Arrives DXB at 5:30am and departs for Madrid at 7:35am. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Cheers!

Officially the answer will be no. But it's certainly worth asking nicely at the EK lounge in MEL you may well receive a warm welcome.

In other words, "bending their ( AirLine) rules" try -- the line between "yes" and "no" is frequently blurry and unclear.

Hi all

As a oneworld Emerald am I entitled to a guest at contract lounges? The rules appear to suggest so but I'm not 100% sure.

My mum and I are flying MH out of DPS (I'm in J, she's in Y - I don't think that changes anything) - but they use the Premier Lounge and there's no oneworld lounge there.

Every-time I've flown on MH, they have written a lounge invitation for both myself and a guest who I was traveling with. But it's always been the same booking (in Y on those occasions). Still, I think they will do it if you check-in together.

Thanks - we'll definitely check-in together (we've actually done the J/Y split in the past but that was at SIN where we used the QF lounge) so we'll see how it goes. I guess I'm just slightly nervous at the outstations (where the contract staff might not be knowledgeable about the rules).

Re: Advice for LAX lounging

If I'm departing BRU on EY to AUH in J (and also am VA platinum), what lounge would I be able to access?

From what I can tell it's meant to be the SN (Brussels Airlines) lounge, but I'm guessing it's the pier B (non-Schengen) one. Would I be able to head over to the pier A (Schengen) lounge that is apparently much better, on account of being refurbished and expanded recently? I'll actually be in Brussels, not in transit, so I wonder if I can get in to pier A prior to clearing outbound immigration with a pier B boarding pass, then head over closer to departure.

(Alternatively I might be able to reroute departing FRA instead. Worth it?)

Thanks!

You wouldn't be the first to reroute for lounge access only but is it really worth it for an hour or so spent in lounge?

Re: Advice for LAX lounging

I was actually hoping AFFers would jump in to say "no, don't reroute, it's not worth it!" so I don't feel like I'm missing out. ;)

Having said that, I would like to know whether there's a way to get to the better SN "The Loft" lounge at BRU though!

I haven't tried at BRU but I have tried in similar (though not identical) circumstances to access the AF international lounge at CDG when I arrived on an international flight and departed on a domestic flight.
Declined entry despite boarding pass and SkyTeam status. Referred to the lounges in the Schengen area.
Perhaps if I had arrived on an AF flight ...

Hi guys,

If I'm a QF SG travelling Emirates from AKL to SYD under a QF flight number, can I guest someone with no status into the Emirates AKL lounge who is flying on the same flight, but booked under the EK code?

This sounds familiar...paging durbrain:lol::mrgreen:

Hopefully this doesn't lead to this thread being closed:p

QF says "same flight" no mention of flight number
