Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

(Special thanks to Princess Fiona for suggesting this new thread.)

I guess that's my concern. Could they say that we're not on the same flight if I'm booked on "QF8763" and my travelling companion is on "EK413"?

I think they'd find it hard to argue that its not the same flight, but i havent tried myself.

My take is that you're on the same aircraft. Operating as EK413 & QF8763, so you should be okay.

Am flying J class Etihad with a VA flight number from SYD-IST next month. If flying virgin Y from BNE-SYD early that day to connect would i be granted lounge access in BNE?

Probably not but you could always give it a try.
Unless like me you hate it when people say "no".

Hi guys girls out there I noticed two Qantas clubs or lounges at LHR which one is which being a Platinum QF would be great to use the facilities but has anyone had experience ? I think one is an Emirates lounge?

Thanks for advice

The lounges a QF Plat can use in LHR T3 are as follows:
AA Flagship/AC
BA Galleries F/J
CX F/J(closed just now for refurbishment)

You can only access the EK lounge if you are in QF F or on an EK flight.

Of the OW lounges above the best IMO is BA.
QF are building their own lounge at LHR but it's not scheduled to open until 2017.

Another silly question , Can one upgrade a PE ticket at the gate with $$ cash at LHR QF -10

Or is it unheard of ?

I dunno about 'at the gate' - but you could prior to that. You'll need to allow a bit of time as they will need to research the fare you paid vs the current walk up business class fare.

Nope they researched the fare the one ( 2 sectors) leg back to Melbourne well over 6000AUD so not that fantastic and we are blocked from purchase at the gate now due to points upgrades and the new bidding system.

I have a feeling this is already a "no" but i must ask.

I'm OWR
SYD-HNL J* - no lounge
HNL-LAX - (AA) F - ?
LAX-DFW - (AA) F - ?
DFW-LGA - (AA) F - ?

From my reading of the access criteria its a no on domestic, but there's something about flights over 5 hours??

Thanks in advance.

One World Ruby does not get lounge access on any flights at all.
Lounge Access is only for OWS and above (excluding AA Plat and Exp who do not get access on domestic US flights).

Thanks.

I don't think I was clear with my question. Does being in F on AA on any of those sectors give me lounge access anywhere?

As TomVexille points out - not lounge access for F on the routes you are flying. However - you can buy a 30 day AAdmirals Club membership for USD99. That will allow you plus one guest into any AA club in the USA. Might be worthwhile if you have flights over a couple of days.
