Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

(Special thanks to Princess Fiona for suggesting this new thread.)

Good evening, I am travelling to Kuala Lumpur on Royal Brunei Business class via Melbourne, am aware of Cathay Pacific Lounge at Mel and Sky Lounge in Brunei. However, on the way back from KL, is there a lounge in KLIA for Royal Brunei Business pax?

Hi guys,

I'm travelling on EK405 MEL-SIN as a first class redemption using QF points. As I'm based in Sydney, I'll be flying down to Melbourne on the same day on a seperate paid for economy ticket on Qantas. I'm assuming I have access to the Qantas domestic business lounge at T3 in Sydney as I'm connecting on the same day, though I'm not entirely sure given it is a seperate ticket. Can anyone confirm that?

Thanks.

... but there's something about flights over 5 hours??

Thanks in advance.
There is a current rule regarding "International"* flight over 5 hours when connecting to shorter flights.

*However, the "International" definition is basically any flight between countries other than "travelling solely on North American flights within or between the U.S., Canada, Mexico (except Mexico City), the Bahamas, Bermuda and the Caribbean".

A travel blog posted a rumor this may be broadened to 'five hour' flights a few weeks ago but such is not currently the published case.

HNL Qantas Lounge Access - I have booked my wife and mother (both no status and not Qantas Club members) a Qantas classic reward redemption the only direct flight was Jetstar HNL -MEL. Booked in Jetstar Business Class. Will there Jetstar Business Reward Redemption Fare tickets get them access to the Qantas Lounge before the flight? Reading the access rules it only states Jetstar Business Max fare is eligble to access lounge. Has anyone had any experience ?

Hi MDRX, I just booked the same for next year. Would love to hear some details of the trip once done. Are you planning on using the QF or EK lounge in MEL?

Will definitely be using the QF lounge, might check out the Emirates lounge too as I have a few hours to spare. I'm flying in July and will put up a review. :)

QF-WP travelling LAX-YVR (Y) on an AA codeshare operated by AS - is there any lounge access available? Inbound from SFO on AA (also Y) if that makes a difference.

Yes you can access the AS lounge in LAX. Be warned its pretty basic, I totally embarrassed myself by trying to pay for a very average wine at the bar

Interesting question. We are flying on AA award on EY first. The lounge dragon refused entry to QF lounge because the boarding pass was EY. I wasn't to worried because the flight was the gate next to the EY lounge and we were going to check it out anyway. It was just cause AA had insisted that I would have access. On the way there I rang AA and they were insistent that we should have access and the manager wanted to talk to the dragon. He was not happy. By then we were almost at the EY lounge. He made a comment about being sick of the way our executive platinums are treated. Anyone know what the correct answer is?

The lounge agent was correct. EY is not a member of oneworld, and the fact that AA issued the ticket is not relevant. Nor is the 'executive platinum' relevant.

Had you been flying on AA or QF (or any other oneworld partner) you would have access to the First class lounge.

The AAgent was probably mistaken that while EY is an AA partner, they are not a Oneworld partner.

No is correct.

OW customers with status need to be on a OW flight to be allowed entry into QF lounge.

Next onward flight that day must be on a oneworld operated and marketed flight.#
One guest allowed and must be travelling on a oneworld operated and marketed flight.#

I concur, under no interpretation of any lounge rules the OP did not have access to any OW lounge

Hi All

I've got an eight hour layover in DPS in the evening of 1 May (arriving on MH853 (J) at 1820 and departing on JQ82 (Y) at 0230). I'd like to either spend the time in a lounge or failing that, an airport hotel. I'm travelling HLO so don't need to go landside to collect bags.

I don't think I have access based on class of service (arriving in MH J) or status (QF WP), so can anyone advise:
- What lounges are available and how much do they cost? Is there a time limit? Can I pay at the door or do I need to pre-book? (I note the Premier Lounge is a Priority Pass lounge but I don't have membership).
- If no lounges are available is there an airport hotel? I can't find one online but any info / links would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

The Premier Lounge used to allow paid access but no longer does so.
I think the other lounge - used by TG and others - does.
I have walked past it and I think I remember a sign with admission charges, but I have no first hand experience of this, sorry.

Hi. I hope it is ok to post this question in this thread.
I have 2 virgin lounge passes from the velocity amex card. My question is, can we use them in the brisbane international virgin lounge, or only in the domestic ?

Domestic only. VA do not have any international lounges.

Ok. Thank you. I heard about a new virgin lounge at Brisbane and thought it was at the International.
Hopefully the domestic lounge will let us in if we only hold an international ticket.
