Macquarie Platinum Card with Qantas Points (40,000 QFF bonus points)

My experience has been great so far with this card. Online approval to card arriving in mailbox was 6 business days.

Reached minimum spend. Card now in draw. Waiting for points and ten will cancel.

I applied for the Black around 1 November and then approved on the 9th, with no text or email. Called on the 10th to check status of the application and was told I was approved for the Black card with $X limit, which was below the minimum for the Black card and questioned the agent if it was a Black or Platinum card that's been approved and she insisted it's a Black card.

A few days later I get a text and email that I've been approved for the Platinum card, as I expected with the approved limit. To date I am still waiting for the card to arrive, having discussed with the Solutions team of the agent providing the wrong information from the agent and slow delivery of the card.

This compared to my experience applying for my AMEX Platinum Edge the week after applying for the Macquarie card, where it was approved and in my mailbox in 2 business days

I don't think that there's any doubt about the superiority of AMEX customer support.

Don't know. It's been more than 24 hours since the purchase. Macquaire claimed that they would authorise the transaction. But payment is showing as 'pending' on the Macquaire portal and via the WISH portal. I'd say Woolworths tried to take the money. Macquaire blocked it. So now its in limbo. I've contacted Woolworths.
Any update on this?

Will I still be eligible for the sign up bonus if I have a current Hilton Honours Macquarie card?

Applied October 23, 2017. Got my points at the end of the first billing cycle - December 6. Have already cancelled and reapplied. Approved straight away. This will be my 4th Macquarie card within 2 years.

I can't confirm from my own experience, but given there's no exclusion period for this card I can't see why not.

Seems like a good option for those concerned about their credit scores. I've never taken a hit for this card.
this surprised me so i checked all my credit reports,
Credit Savvy (Experian) - no hit
Credit Simple D&B - no hit
Veda free credit report - hit

I would check your Veda file to confirm this.

I already have. Can confirm no hit ever from Macquarie. They also aren't the only bank to never hit me for a credit report.

to say i'm jealous is an understatement! i agree they can be a little funny, eg my 2 ANZ apps appeared in separate files

Applied and conditionally approved straight away. Now to figure out where to spend the $2000. I have a few cruises to pay for but don't want the 3% forex fee as I can use a forex free card for those. Will pay rates with my Velocity Amex to cover the $1500 minimum on it. Probably wouldn't spend 2K normally in 2 months...Hmmm?????

I usually prepay something I will need to pay down the track. Whack some extra credit on your electricity bill, phone, internet etc. Of course, having school fees to pay quarterly usually helps me with minimum spend :(

Prepaid bills or get some 5% off WISH cards which you can convert to Visa 1 or theperfectgift cards which can then be used over the next 12 months.

Might apply for this whilst waiting for a better amex offer to come. 40000 points for 99 dollars is great. How long from approval to getting the card. Have house insurance due very early Feb

More info required, how do you know you have seperate files to even identify this?

Sorry, when i said separate files i meant with different agencies not the same.

I closed my reports already but as an example my first ANZ application just over a year ago was listed at agency (a) and the second application a few months ago was listed at agency (b) however neither agency had both applications listed.
