Got my first statement:
1. Is it ment to be 1:5 QFF points for utilities, petrol and supermarket?
2. What if BPay utilities is not credited what are people doing?
Regards
Can someone post the equation for the excel spreadsheet
There seems to be two offers at the moment? ...
my Q exactly. I didnt get X5 points for the council rate payment...Do utilities include payments to local Council & if so I guess no problem in making prepayments? They supply & charge for our water supply as well.
Sounds like BPay is a problem - I'll keep using Pay by Phone.
Welcome to the club of the disappointed.
Nothing Macquarie promises will ever come true.
If you set up an Excel spreadsheet to calculate your spending and the expected QFF points (5:1 for utilities, 2:1 for Qantas, 1:1 for the rest...), you will find that the awarded points will be always less than what the spreadsheet tells you.
The QC passes are all labelled DOMESTIC only, not valid for INT BUSINESS lounges despite the public offer & the signed letter accompanying the passes.
A shambles, really.
Yes, I know what you "ment"
PS: PM me if you want some name / phone number to vent your grievances
No points whatsoever are earned for any spend on any government related expenditure such as rates!
Was anyone aware of this?
I have just lodged another complaint with them.
I made a payment to Sydney Water via BPay and there are no bonus points. This too has been escalated (at least the CSR didn't have the nerve to tell me they are "specialty retail").
So far the only automatic bonus point assignment has been Woolworths.
Awaiting a response from them.
(and as stated, I'm using an Excel spreadsheet to monitor per transaction points, and yes, internally they keep track of your points to two decimal places)

While most transactions made on your Macquarie Visa Platinum or Gold Card will earn you Reward points, some transactions do not. You do not earn Reward points on cash advances, balance transfers, interest charges, gambling chip purchases, internet gambling transactions, credit fees and charges, disputed transactions, foreign exchange purchases, traveller’s cheques and credit card payments.
b.
Are there situations where we will not award Macquarie
Reward Points or Qantas Frequent Flyer Points?
Macquarie Reward Points and Qantas Frequent Flyer Points
are not earned in respect of the following amounts that may
be charged to your Account:
•
GST and government charges
•
interest and other bank fees and charges (including any
GST payable on any of these)
•
Cash Advances
•
Special Promotions such as balance transfers
•
Transactions made in operating a business or in connection
with business expenditure
•
Transactions that are reversed (refunds)
•
Payments for credit card protection insurance.
Spending on these items on your Card will not be
eligible Purchases.
"government charges" is quite different to paying a bill to a government department.I suspect you could argue it either way.
