JessicaTam how about an update on your checking in for 'the 10?' 170 minutes to scheduled departure.

UPDATE: Sorry, this was posted when unbeknown to me you had updated us 20 minutes or so previously. It didn't appear on my 'feed' for some time though.

What was our arrival time into DXB? That was where we had the hold.

You landed at 0628 so were at the gate at a nominal 0633 hours on Saturday 24 March (QF9 ex MEL). That made you three minutes tardy, so my contention that you were a little pessimistic holds true.

...
Check in was well and truly open when I got there at T-170 with staff and cameras everywhere. I avoided the scrum and was through in no time. The F/WP queue was empty. Unlike the seat next to me for my flight to PER. :(

There are plenty of promo shots of the new QF lounge so I won’t bother with replicating them.

This photo is much more interesting! I asked for a glass of champagne and was offered Crosier. I asked if they had any “champagne” and the attendant disappeared “out the back” and returned with a glass of Perrier Jouier. There was no request to see what status I held. The cynical me thinks they have been told not to question guests today of all days. But tomorrow may be a different story.

I have just boarded the Hex to LHR from Paddington station. I may have accidentally spent a little too much on souvenirs for my colleagues. But I do need to give them some proof of what I did.

It will be interesting to see their faces when they ask me what I got up to on the weekend. :D
Hope you get to watch Paddington 2 on the way home. :)

The only mad part about this is doing it partly on a 789.

Indeed.

So far all of my 787 Y-class flights have been less than impressive.

Dreamliner? Blah. The A380 in Y-class is just so much better!

Let's hope Qantas has got the 789 in Y-class right!

The first LHR - PER nonstop QF10 (B789 VH-ZND) departed six early on Sunday 25 March 2018 at 1309, taking off at 1331 hours. Bon voyage JessicaTam.

FR24 incorrectly shows its expected landing time in Perth as '1504 hours' on Monday 26. This site may have trouble in part because the UK has just gone over to BST (equivalent of Oz east/central DST.)
