Malaysia Airlines Delays/Cancellations

On Sunday 7 May 2017, MH129 (0920 hours KUL down to MEL that did not take off until 1245 hours this afternoon) should arrive at about 2218, 183 minutes later than its timetabled 1915 hours arrival. Aircraft is A333 9M-MTJ. MH128 returning from MEL to KUL, the 2325 hours, will be delayed at least slightly.

MH129 is delayed for a second consecutive day, with the Monday 8 May arrival set to occur at around 1947 hours, 32 minutes late. 9M-MTA is the A333.

MH126, the Saturday 20 May shockingly timed 0210 hours PER - KUL (B738 9M-MLS) was airborne at 0238. Expected arrival is -939 hours, 48 minutes late.

In an attempted hijacking, this possibly insane, but allegedly drunk, gent (Sir Lankan national) threatened to blow up MH128 (the scheduled 2325 hours MEL - KUL) with some black device (a powerbank) the size of a watermelon on Wednesday 31 May after it departed MEL at 2311, with it back in MEL at 2344:

Aircraft was A333 9M-MTI. Passengers have been accommodated in hotels.

Subsequent to this, Victoria and Australian Federal Police are being criticised for not boarding MH128 for 90 minutes once it was on the ground back in MEL. One caller to radio 3Aw said the police must have been having an occupational health and safety meeting. Not a good look.

Some other flights had to divert to AVV. Lots of delays.

Thursday 1 June's MH139 from KUL down to ADL, the 2220 hours, did not become airborne until 0001 hours on Friday 2 June. Arrival of A333 9M-MTL should be at about 0841, 101 minutes late. MH136, the 0815 hours return flight should be able to depart at approximately 0955 if all goes well with the turnaround.

The 2210 hours KUL - MEL MH149 on Friday 2 June did not become airborne until 0001 hours on Saturday 3. Arrival of A333 9M-MTJ should be at around 0952 hours, 122 minutes late. As it has a long layover before MH148 is timetabled to depart at 1355 this afternoon, the latter should be unaffected.

Wednesday 7 June 2017's MH149, the timetabled 2210 hours from KUL to MEL (A333 9M-MTA) did not become airborne until 0117 hours on Thursday 8. Arrival should be at around 1049 hours, 179 minutes late. As the returning MH148 does not depart until 1355, it should (in theory) be unaffected.

As at 2000 hours on Friday 9 June 2017 there are a large number of aircraft approaching SYD that are in holds due presumably to the rain. Hopefully ATC has not 'lost' some radio frequencies as it did earlier this week for a time.

MH141 (0910 hours KUl to SYD, A333 9M-MTF) was airborne at 0949 which was about 15 - 20 minutes late, but as at 2000 hours AEST it was holding above Goulburn with a considerable number of aircraft in front of it, so arrival is suggested after 2020 which at a minimum makes it 45 minutes late.

Thursday 15 June 2017 sees MH128, the 2325 hours Wednesday 14 June MEL - KUL (A333 9M-MTE) not having become airborne until an unattractive for waiting passengers 0233 - imagine eating at 0330 AEST - with consequent mooted arrival at around 0834, 154 minutes late.

MH129, the KUL - MEL Friday 16 June flight due to arrive at 1915 has been delayed until an uncomfortable 0250 hours on Saturday 17. MH128, the 2325 hours return flight to KUL is predicted to depart MEL at 0350, enabling passengers to 'enjoy' a meal at around 0440 - not my favourite time after sitting up much of the night in a brightly lit airport.

On Sunday 25 June, MH136, the 0815 hours ADL up to KUL (A333 9M-MTO) was airborne at 0846 with expected arrival 1515, 45 minutes tardy.

A333 9M-MTH is not having much of a Monday 26 June 2017 with MH129, the scheduled 0920 hours KUL down to MEL not in the sky until a late lunchtime of 1335 hours. Arrival is predicted as 2240 hours, a substantial 205 minutes behind the schedule. As MH128 is timetabled to depart at 2325 hours back to KUL, it will be delayed by at least half an hour.

Monday 3 July sees the daytime flight from KUL to MEL (MH129, A333 9M-MTJ) not having taken off until 1046 despite a pushback timetable of 0920 hours. Forecast arrival is 53 minutes tardy at 2008.

A wettish, fairly busy air traffic wise Friday 14 July in MEL sees MH149, the overnight from KUL encountering a holding pattern over Warracknabeal and St Arnaud with consequent expected arrival stretching out to 0835 hours, 45 minutes late for A333 9M-MTL.

Friday 14 July's MH149, the 2210 hours SYD - KUL (A333 9M-MTN) looks to have been hugely delayed overnight in SYD with takeoff on Saturday 15 July at 1555 hours.

Monday 24 July's 2325 hours, late night MH128 from MEL up to KUL looks to have been delayed by 25 hours as it should depart at 0025 hours on Wednesday 26 as MH128D, 'D' being for 'delayed.'

On Friday 28 July, MH149 is arriving into MEL (ex KUL) 41 minutes late at 0831 with the usual A333, in this case 9M-MTJ.

The Tuesday 1 August 2017 MH126 (0220 hours PER - KUL, A333 (9M-MTD) took off at 0335 so arrival is suggested as 0902, 61 minutes tardy.
