I am a little closer to Gold than Platinum, but that is only due to the craziness of December.

I am a HHD and have a flexible reservation at HSW for that evening, so there is a reasonable chance I may randomly appear in the HSW exec lounge at 18:00 hours on the 21st of December and happen to run into you lot :p :p :p

Apologies if this isn't the right pace to ask, but in the context of this gathering, is the HSW worth spending $30 more than the Novotel on Collins or the Grand Hotel Melbourne, MGallery on Swanston?

HSW's hard product is very good, but as I have not stayed at the others can't offer more than that. Except that there will be a few of us at HSW.

And it is likely that JessicaTam will host an after party into the wee hours, so the "commute" to bed at HSW is an elevator ride, where as the other hotels will be about a $10 taxi ride.


On the other hand, if only staying the one night, you probably won't "experience" much of your room as you will be at drinks/dinner/afterparty.

Sadly I must pull out as I now find out that I will be in Ocean Grove with friends from overseas at this time. Everyone else, enjoy!
