Breakfast included man maybe we will stay at your house and anat0l can have our room instead lol

Come join for breakfast then if you're nearby :)

(I usually eat there every Saturday if at home)

Thanks for the offers shellthom and Ewing.

And I have no known allergies to cats.

we have no problems with it, couch or spare room in uncertain at this time though.
Taxi to ours costs 70ish because of the Eastern Distributor and Bridge tolls, train I think is about 30.
North Sydney (Suburb).
Cat is rescue believed to be Ragdoll, but she doesn't flop so we think she's crossed but she is needy like a dog so thats def ragdoll trait.
We have nice views but no standard breakfast venue.

We are coming too. Sydney is always good for a weekend.
munitalP has introduced me to Peking Duck in Melbourne and I loved it.

Now you're blowing a few cobwebs out with talk of Peking Duck..........didn't Hilton Sydney use to have a great Chinese restaurant with the the best Peking Duck in Oz? I think that may also have been my first taste of jelly fish as well and my mates mum (Chinese) ordered everything and WOW.....the best food I've ever tasted. Lisa and I had no idea what she ordered, but boy it was gooooood! (Circa.....late '80's)

What it does mean I wouldn't mind if someone has somewhere I could crash for the night on Friday.

If we have a couch @ HSYD, you're welcome to it anat0l. I couldn't offer that last time we caught up (as I recall Gabby had the couch) and SYD H is not known for their humungous rooms but we do have two booked this time! We are there on Fri. but I'm struggling to find the Death Star booking details. I'll let you know as soon as I do in case we can offer you a lift (or taxi etc).

Updated

Pre-dinner drinks will be at the Hilton in a private area. Please follow the signs to level 2.

Start @ 1730 till 1930

During this time there will be prize draws and our guest speaker will be giving a short presentation / question session.
The event sponsors will also have a few minutes to say something if they wish.

There will be no Kris Kringle. This is due to more than 1/3 of the people asked not wanting it. Please note - the Xmas event in December it will be a requirement.

(I am very disappointed about this as I feel it is part of the event!)

1930-2030 Finish off, meet at Glass for dinner

Menu updated with seasonal changes:

Entrée

Tuna sashimi, ginger, eschallot, Persian feta

Cheese / Coffee / Tea

After much negotiation and reluctance, the bar at Glass will be accessible during the meal. No table charges will be available

This is the final post from me here.

Apart from the veal tongue, I believe that's a menu I could devour lashings of!

Like you munitalP, I'm also a bit disappointed Kris Kringle is a no goer. It really IS part of the spirit of the occasion, is not expensive and really just shows everyone that each one of us is prepared to take an hour or so out of our busy lives to search for a fun little gift to make someones Chrissie in July (well June) just that bit better. Surely there is not many who can't spend 1 hour thinking about a little gift for a fellow AFFer............

Have I mentioned I'm really looking forward to this event :D !

Reposting the 2nd payment booking form as it now back a page.
Trybooking | Outstanding payment for dinner (Glass)

So for those using trybooking payments are 60.30 + 54.30 if I remember the first payment correctly.

Agree the menu looks good, albeit the entree choices of two seafood, a veg and a veal is a bit different.

So is glass BYO?? :)

In light of there being no KK, instead of $10 towards a KK gift, how would people feel like donating $10 to charity?

Out of respect to munitalP as organiser, I asked him for a choice of charity, and he suggested the RSPCA.

Basically - $10 from each member goes into a kitty, which is then donated to the charity on behalf of the group. $10 cash - preferably note and not coins - no FF points, no gold, no foreign currency... and sorry but no receipts for tax deductions.

What does everyone else think?

I'm happy with the donation idea anat0l

Also if anyone needs a room and/or transportation from the northern beaches let me know.

On the charity thing, I would prefer a personal commitment to give - many people have charities that are close to their heart

Pun intended? :)

All,

The TryBooking site has been closed off. Payments from now will need to be made directly to me.

Thanks to all that have paid so far!

Cheers!
