I am in the middle of my 1st order (at O2gearshop.com) and have tried my Visa and M/C and the say my 'suite' does not match my billing address.

What are others doing w' this problem, I don't actually have AMEX.

You need to use the personal shopper service then. Some stores do that.

Several options, but depends on what the actual problem is. Is there an option to choose a shipping address different to your billing address? Then you give a real au address for the billing and ship to MYUS. The 28 degrees allows you to add 2 supplementary o'seas addresses. Is this an option?

Next- just find another retailer. I went to one that wouldn't ship to myus. Bought from someone else, and at a cheaper price to boot!!

Lastly, personal shopper service. This erodes some of the savings and I've never done it. Everything I buy has enough retailers that the other 3 options will work.

Thanks Puhska and Cynicor, just waiting for the US to wake up and will work through all these options you suggest. One of the things was that MyUs address did not match my cc, but only had 1 address box.

I did try to switch around addresses / 28Degrees / Visa and M/C. I'm anticipating having to go elsewhere. I did search for ages to find the cheapest prices for my items, but I guess the cost of that is inflexibility.

Do they take PayPal? Sometimes this will allow you to get around it.
That is what I have done with one place I regularly purchase from. They have a different process for international orders and/or international credit cards, but they accept PayPal and I have added my MyUS.com shipping address to my PalPal profile, so they treat it as a domestic order paid via PayPal (no surcharge). So it makes it easy. But of course not all on-line stores accept PayPal.

If where you are shopping, they won't accept Paypal nor foreign cc here's how MyUs will help you as a personal shoppers if a premium member:

"With your membership type, the fee for processing a Personal Shopper order by credit card is 6% of the order total (with a minimum fee of $10), and if you prefer to prepay by wire we charge 3% of your order total for the Personal Shopper fee (with a minimum fee of $10)".

Yep. Two of us have already mentioned that.

I had misunderstood. I thought the previous post was to shops themselves doing the pers shopper somehow. Perhaps it clarifies for others like me who are just getting started in this and are on a learning curve and may have some queries.

Not sure of this has been mentioned, but in situations where the billing address must match the shipping address, I just called Amex (I am a plat charge card holder) and told them to add the address on for me. They did it, and I bought (and more importantly received) the goods no problem.

Having said that, I reckon so long as your card details are OK, they will charge the card, regardless of whether you call up AMEX or not...

I signed up for the promo and got the mailbox but have never actually used it. Now I'm giving it some thought.

What's the approximate charge for sending about 2kgs of clothing?

Last night I arranged to ship 2.6 lbs (of clothing, not that it matters what it is). I joined recently under the M/C free premium w' 30% off shipping for 3 months.

They have sent me 2 emails to confirm that my 2 packages have been consolidated and shipped. So, it ended up being USD 41. Which compares quite favourably w' shop sites themselves. I'll let you know how long it takes.

Maybe around $30-40 with the promo.

PS. I arranged to ship on Thurs evening, and today Monday it arrived at my front door. Excellent service, all in one box.

Surprise surprise they've ripped the discounts applied to the account (30% off freight and waived annual fee with no expiry dates) then sneak in an annual fee charge onto my card with no warning.

Shoot MyUS an e-mail and I'm sure I will follow it up with Amex to get my $67 or so back...

just checked my MyUs account and still shows annual fee waived and 30% discount on shipping...so no change

When did you sign up? Is it a one year anniversary or something?

I just checked my account and all ok, but I haven't completed a full year membership yet.

I've signed up as soon as this offer came out yonks ago and even a couple of months ago when I checked my account, the discounts were still applicable.

guess I signed up over 2 years ago and have used them successfully many times this year...will keep asn eye out for any changes though !!

I had a parcel brought in 3 weeks ago and discount applied so maybe something changed July 1?
