New Amex statement credits

Are you sure the Coles group gift can be used to purchase fuel?

On the back of this particular card it states coles express which is our local servo & usually the cheapest around here.
Not sure if that's the case with all coles GC though. Have a look at the back of whatever card you buy. :)

Thanks. It is listed on mine as well. Missed it when I looked before. Extra bonus and makes them even easier to use.

Good with 5 points per dollar on voucher?

Expires on 20/12/16, you'd have to make sure that the (normally) end of year bonus point gift voucher offer starts before 20/12/16.

Otherwise you could make a refundable $700 revenue booking, get the credit and have the ticket refunded less ~$9.10 (1.3% of $700), thereby not triggering the statement credit reversal.

There is an $88 cancellation fee on Flex whY now, what fare are you referring to?

Got an email from Qantas yesterday

Earn 5 Qantas Points~ per A$1 spent on all flight gift vouchers at qantas.com from now until 31 December 2016.

Edit, wrong quote, I meant to quote the Mobile Wallet offer above this reply!?

My phone is not the latest model and won't run the app.

Option at the moment seems to be borrow a phone that doesn't already have the app, make the spend and the delete the app (and data). Anyone see a flaw in this ? Would it prevent the phone's owner (my sister) ever using the app in future (ie. Gets gocked to my card?)

I think that hotels, cars, tours etc are a different merchant

Yes I think that is correct. Not sure whether this relevant but the last time I booked a hotel through Qantas, the hotel told me I had booked through Expedia.

Thanks. Looks like its just the gift cards for me then. Shame those can't be used for hotels either.
