New Amex statement credits

Unable to save activation fee by splitting one Westfield card across several amexes at Sydney Westfield just now. They've apparently been told today that only one card can be used for each gift card. I bought 3 XS cards. Still a good deal.

I learnt it from last HN deal so I went to Westfield Sydney as fast as I could. No issue splitting payment over 3 cards and the young lady did it in less than a minute :D Heard it was yesterday afternoon when they stopped splitting payment.

No problem at Myer Sydney splitting a $450 Coles group and Myer GC over three amexes. Only about 10 physical cards left on the stand at level 5 click and collect point.

Went to Myer Pitt St and picked a quiet floor and no Coles group gift cards. I was told they no longer had them as Myer and Coles werent together anymore. Went down a couple floors (Lady clothes) and there were heaps of them. I'm so broke now.

I don't believe that this is correct.

So it seems that most of the new offers don't exclude gift cards, so theoretically, I could go to Nespresso, Country Road, etc, and buy a gift card for the nominated amount of the offer. :)

Does anyone have experience (success or otherwise) combining the $10 off $50 spend voucher with the coles-myer gift card purchase at First Choice?

It appears the First Choice at Phillip (in Canberra) has closed down and I dunno if can be bothered driving to Belco or Braddon.

Anyone know if you can buy gift cards with the davidjones.com.au special?

From my previous experience, physical gift cards worked. E gift card didn't as it didn't use a regular DJ check out. To avoid the $5 shipping fee, you could add a cheap item like $1.

You can normally always stack deals where one is from a PROMO CODE and the other is generated from a Payment credit such as the Amex Promo or is just a site/store wide special.
- Online you can also often gain further benefit by usinga tracking link discount/rebate (ie a third stack) from going through the Velocity/Qantas or Krisfyer Portals or by using Cashrewards.

The issue comes when you have multiple PROMO CODES as most online platforms will only accept one PROMO CODE per transaction. So you then select which is the best for that purchase.

Some people are combing the Westfield offer with the 20% off Rebel (Today) with the $20 off $50 offer at Rebel.

I just returned from Westfield Knox where I was able to buy $1950 Coles Myer cards at Myer, staff were more than happy to spilt across 13 cards, including 5 with Apple Pay. Tried for a $500 XS Westfield card but told not allowed to split payment there using AMEX.
I plan to try 1 or 2 other Westfields for cards (will ask to split and then stretch truth about card type, and/or use Apple Pay), if not able to split then will go again just before offer expires, hoping they have forgotten no split rule after the initial mad rush. As a last resort I can always cop the activation fee on them

On a side note I purchased my last vPay from HN a few days ago (I had one card which was registered but not yet used). Staff there asked if it was for AMEX deal, I said it was. They pointed out a sign saying HN gift cards and vPay were excluded from the deal and asked if I would still like to go ahead. I went ahead, received instant email and credit hit my account yesterday. I was impressed how well the young girl there managed to politely point out the (supposed) exclusion. She was a lot more professional than other stories I have read. I tried to load the vPay voucher to my Coles reloadable MC - mine was one of the ones which was blocked and then released after sending copies of vouchers and drivers licence- but the load transaction was declined.

Between BP, HN, Shop Small, Amex Click Frenzy offer, Mobile Wallet/Myer/Westfield, it has been a long time since I went to a shop and paid for something not stemming from an AMEX offer.

Now off to First Choice, has anyone tried Fountain Gate for Westfield cards?

Maxwell and Williams sauce dish is $0.83 this weekend and perfect for this purpose. Except I've got 30 of them from previous deals...

If you are using the AMEX offer Spend $100 or more, get $20 back at Woolworths online, you could combine with the following offer:

Note code ends 4/12/2016. Biut you could use it to order your groceries for click and collect/delivery 7 days ahead.

Interesting how different banks process the points in regard to the statement credits.

ANZ, Westpac - points awarded on spend before credits.
NAB - awarded after credits.

Not that it's a big deal..

It is when you are waiting for the credits to land so that you can cancel your cards.
