New Amex statement credits

For those of us to who chase points two by $300 VPay is the optimum solution where you can use it to replace a lower points earn than would result from MC/VISA use. You have already had the sunk cost of the second $5.50 fee and so you might as well then take out the second VPay to its maximum value.

Morseo if you are using Explorers that earn at 2 points per $

Even better if you can luck onto one of the $500 prepaid VISAs. But these seem rare.

And yes using them to pay the ATO is an excellent use.

For points chasers, a $1000 mygift2u visa @ $5.95 would be even better ?

(I am lucky that my local HN has them, the next closest doesn't)

Thanks for the heads up about the $1000 cards. Would certainly be more convenient. The cashier was trying to load mine up with $1000 but then the POS wouldn't let her process >$500 (which is still more convenient than the $100 only1 cards). Sounds like it must be store specific.
Which store was selling $1000 cards? I'd probably buy a few as $1000 denomination would be quite convenient.

The mygift2u cards are of no pre assigned value - you choose from some set amounts (DrRalph listed them somewhere up thread) at the checkout.

Which hn store ?

As per my signature - I am on the NW coast of Tassie

Not sure I listed all of the values available. But I remember that $350 was not available, but $150, $200, $500 and $1000 were.

But note OP asked about vpay NOT mygift2u so the discussion of $1000 options for the OP is moot as vpay has a maximum of $300.

does anyone know if the harvey norman in north ryde has vpay? also if they are still having the issue of being part domayne and part harvey normans?
