New Amex statement credits

HNs seem to want to block everything!

Just put through two online orders for some taps and bathroom gear for a reno I'm doing Orders were about $420 each.

Got an email a few hours later stating "
Thanks for placing your order with us. However after careful review, we have decided to not accept your order. We apologise for any inconvenience."

wow, that's pretty lame, are you going to chase it up and see why?

Yep, everytime I deal with HNs I regret it. I honestly have had problems with every single purchase I've ever made.

I have gotten in touch with their fairly useless service team who have said "umm like yeh i don't know, you have to email the security people". Went through a few supervisors, and they have no idea what to do other than "just email them and they'll get back to you in a few days".

I hope they never do any Amex offers again so I'm not tempted to try to use them!

My IGA that is in administration, again triggered another shop small on another AMEX card. Mmm I thinking of using the 3 other cards to buy the Whiskas cat food that comes with the JB GC's.
If each box costs around $7, I should be get at least 3 boxes for $21 - $10 = $11.

So if I can use the 3 cards for 9 boxes, I should get at least the equivalent of $45 (Two boxes required for one $10 GC) JB HIFI giftcards for $33.

Hopefully their will still be stock with the GC Codes. Might try to hit up other supermarkets that are on the list.

You're lucky to have an IGA on the list. Only one in NSW and Gosford is a bit far to go...

So if 9 boxes then you get 4 x $10 JB eGCs, = $40.

There is a limit (supposedly) of max 5 eGCs per email address...

Best was when W had them on special at $5 a box but I was not thinking clearly enough that day and left dozens on the shelf.

There is still hope - offer goes until 31 Dec.

Local HN did not have any vpay or prepaid Visa cards on the shelf.
Might look at HN GCs or another store.
Has anyone successfully made a purchase (of anything) splitting with multiple HN GCs?

Just a quirk this IGA is on the list because of going into administration. Comes up Bello or Bella.

8 boxes for $40.

The best price I saw was at Coles for $4.40. Bought 30 boxes. The key is quickly consolidating the cards into higher amounts. I.e 5 x $10 into $50.

Thinking of getting a new laptop at JB's with the 20% computer sale.

Did my first Whiskas run. The flavour my Cat likes is not stock. Bought three different flavour boxes. First flavour not liked. Might just get the Kitten version of the flavour he likes.

Perhaps you should get a new cat - a cat a bit less fussy about the flavour!

Even the Cat's friend didn't like one of the new flavours. I am going to be trialling other flavours. If they don't work, I will be gifting them to friends.

Considering I bought them for below cost with Shop Small and the return on JB Giftcards, I am still in front.

If you are in NSW, you can go to any HN stores to buy GC with AMEX except its FLAGSHIP store in Auburn, that one has the worst customer service, and the only store to refuse sell any type of GC if you use AMEX, and it also forbids split payments by AMEX.

Once in Bunnings I couldn't find my wife so I went and stood at the entrance. The Bunning's meeter & greeter asked if he could help and I explained I had lost my wife. Without hesitation, he said ' new wifes, aisle 14'.
I'll take a look next time I drive past.

HN honestly does my head in.....

Made another order using a family members name, address and their Amex sup card. Seems that this one got past the keeper and was generously "approved". Three bathroom fittings that had "free delivery".

Now it seems there is a "4 week wait" for one of the items because the store "assigned" doesn't have it in stock. The funny thing is, this store is on the other side of Sydney where as my nearest store (a few k's away) does have it in stock. But it can't be sent from there as it wasn't "assigned" to them.

my local HN who seems to be happy to sell the Vpay cards, I called today again and got told head office has stopped sales of hte vpay cards and deleted the product,

do you guys think this is true, or theyre just stopping it temporarily? or its another sales pitch from them,

my guy seemed quite genuine

Thanks. Got a few HN GCs. Emails arrived. They also said you can split any purchase with multiple HN GCs. It wouldn't make sense for them not to allow multiple uses of "store credit" when buying items...

Happy to be able to split a transaction at the dog groomer this morning; $20 off the price is decent.
