The other things we will have will be the personal greeting from the CEO on screen on the seat back screen that will recognize if someone has already decided to do a seat shift on me

Used my tags for the first time today (I actually checked in luggage for the first time in 6 months!) - and they FAILED. The baggage machine couldn't read them. It was not possible to change my check-in via the kiosk...... so was sent to the general (everybody) check in queue.... with 1 QF check-in staff member for the whole of T3 at SYD DOM....:shock:

Sydney Domestic: Checked in a soft Longchamps easily but could not check in a hard Samonsite suitcase after many attempts trying two machines with the assistance of two charming, if frustrated Qantas staff.

6 weeks since reaching platinum and still no cards/tags for me :-(

Same here for me. I actually rang QF the other day and was told... "There have been some delays.. but you should receive it any day now.". The nice lady then checked my upcoming flights to ensure I would not be disadvantaged... I"ve got 2 x SYD-BNE-SYD in J in the next 3 weeks, then SYD-LHR//LGW-SZG//MUC-LHR/LHR-SYD starting New year's day.. I really want my new card for that to ensure no trouble with accessing F lounges (esp LGW)..

HOpefully it won't be much longer.

As long as your boarding pass says Platinum you should have no problem accessing the lounge.

I've called them twice, once after 3 weeks and once after 5 weeks, was told they would be a few weeks yet....

I just want mine for an O/S trip so I can get in lounges when im traveling BA (just in case...)

On my last trip through LHR T3 (Sep) I needed to show my WP card to book a spa appointment, wouldn't accept QFF OWE on boarding pass. If a spa visit is on your wishlist I would suggest pointing this out to the premium desk before travel

Got my PS (LT) tags and card in the mail last night. pretty poor quality control at QF nowadays - the accompanying letter had a grammar/spelling mistake within the first sentence. And despite several mentions of a complimentary QC pass none was to be found ....:evil: what's the likelihood they will believe me when i call them and send me another one?

Sitting in the ADL QP lounge this morning I've seen six tags, all attached to carry-on luggage....

Now five weeks since making SG and still no new card or tags. Haven't used the PS tags yet as I've been hand luggage only. No worries using the PS card in the QP to get a boarding pass of course.
Just a niggle, not a drama. No point calling Qantas I guess - they'll get them here eventually.

I had 7 months left until my anniversary though I had already Qualified for next year but I was surprised when they sent me my tags and card with expiry of May 2012.

Also my card worked the first time I tried it at the bag drop in Sydney but yesterday it did not luckily I had my OLCI boarding pass and scanned that instead.

Well after 6 weeks of waiting... I came back from BNE last night to find my shiny new WP card and Bag Tags waiting in the mail box.

Glad they arrived before I head to Europe, as I was concerned after PrincessFiona said she needed her WP card to access the T3 F lounge Spa... NOw I can do so with no issues... Hooray.

Also, used NGCI at SYD on Friday night, and have to say I thought it was great. Not having to worry about paper bag tags, and the fact that the flight data is "magically" transmitted to the NG tag is pretty neat. All very quick. And on my return flight, from BNE, the NG tag worked again, as mine was the second bag off the flight... that NEVER happens.... All in all very impressed. Glad QF are making my travel easy again....

There’s only 5, or have I missed something? I guess a non-status tag could be made if they’re going to sell them eventually, but I didn’t think that was released yet?

Used the Business Class check-in at SYD again last night and was asked why I am not using my new tags. Had a short conversation and explained to the check-in person that I refuse to/will not use them and I have heard stories of luggage going to different destinations. She mentioned that QF management are asking check-in staff to remind people about using the new tags.

They can ask me all they like I will still not use the tags.

By the way I had 4 bags and checked-in 2 of them (luggage 23.5kgs and golf clubs 14.7kgs) and I was not sure what my baggage allowance is now. She said it is 35kgs and not to worry as I was 3kgs over but she overrode the system. If worse came to worse I would have taken some stuff out of my luggage and put it in my carry on bag as that was light.
