Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

What would be more interesting was what you thought it represented, so we can analyse your answer :D ;)

Last night was the first without a red this week - I was working so wanted a clear head for as long as I was awake. Really must not forget to open a bottle as non-inbibing really didn't work.

I got these from my QLD Cricketers Club members email:

Both sound interesting - has anybody experience with the two wineries mentioned?

Torbreck is a modern Barossa icon and makes extremely good wines - some of them with prices to match!
Have tasted a fair few Torbreck wines and yes I like them but I dont buy many, that sticker shock being the main reason.

Speaking of which though, what ever hapend to their winemaker who did not leave amicably, maybe he'll set up elsewhere (cheaper).

They don't look like the flathead we get up here?

FYI: MrsTMA won't eat fish if the head's still on!

They're the bream; the flathead had apparently already been eaten. The bream looked sensational! I can almost taste the bream/Vermentino combo from the photo :).

Yes of course they are, but I couldn't say that ;) It's sill up to sedimental to own up to you fish deprived southerners.

Went to Torbreck recently but did not try anything as I was the designated driver. Must say that big bottle did interest me until I was told the cost - up to $35,000 depending on the wine it contains!

Had half of this tonight:

CdP.JPG

Really not very good at all. Not that it was bad, just ordinary. Textureless and hollow on the mid-palate.

Of course, being those ridiculous French, it was sealed with some old scrap of tree-bark that was a bit soft-feeling. That could very well have scalped it.

Anyway, you could likely see this in DMs. My advice: keep walking.

To keep in touch with the WAers I scavenged a glass of this from Mr Up last night... very drinkable.. not sure of the price adjusted rating but yum :)

My heart bleeted for QF WP having to miss a night of red, so I sought out this as commiseration tonight. Vale QF WP! ;)
