Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

Lunch (fettuccine with scallops, prawns and soffritto, white wine, chicken stock and condensed milk) and dinner of pan fried Salmon, chips and peas.

Pick which was for which! (QF WP - the wines and food, not the glasses;) )

Both wines were excellent. The SV, being aged for 2-3 years in frudge was very surprising, still full of fruit with nice extended palate. Chardonnay is drinking very well, soft oak and malo with nice finish.

I probably won't have the opportunity to post much in this thread for the next 6-8 weeks as I brought home all the Cellarmaster cases and one Virgin case. Although they have aged another year :o

Better bring them in from the car and load them into the rack

Don't die with bottles in the cellar!

But predicting when I am going to die is proving a trifle difficult . Mind you, I have a bunch of callous and unsympathetic friends and relatives who are quite happy to make it clear that they are wishing me into the grave so they can rat my wine cabinets - and after all the generosity I show to them . It makes me more determined to stick around!

At least I can be thankful that the gut-busting beach runs, surfing, gym sessions and periodic physical agricultural research fieldwork dabbling that I do develop a prodigious thirst that allows me to match an Uppy-style thirst - well, only for a while ;) - even if the original motivation was merely to be able to eat & drink what I like, look good naked and be good in bed ;):p.

I don't understand, have I missed something in another thread.... do you only drink at work?

I would think having all of that wine now at home, at your fingertips so to speak would have you posting more often.

He lost me too, Steady, - but not for the first time ;):p.

No - we wanted an expert post-slurping assessment ;).

Well my assessment will be far from expert. But the slurping was f%@&ing good. It did develop quite a bit over the couple hours we took to drink it and was still a little tacky at times. Overall I think the $80 paid was well worth it. Kinda wish I had bought another to keep for another couple years.

Well, that's the sort of robust assessment that I understand ;). None of this 'essence of sweaty saddle-leather, with traces of organic and biodynamic fairy-dust' stuff :p.
