Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

You need to train your glass washer better... - or stop putting the good glassware in the dishwasher ;).
No point. Experience has shown that if you hand wash the lead crystal Reidels, you break 1-5 a year, so they may as well go into dishwasher and be replaced every 2- 5 years. (Or kept in case QF WP visits!)

Half of this tonight with JohnM's slow-braised just-falling-off-the-bone beef ribs[SUP]TM[/SUP].

Very subtle and smooth. Maybe not one for the fans (or those whose predominant experience is) of Barossa or McLaren Vale monsters, but a great food wine IMHO.

Worked a treat. Hmmnnn, note to self: I must get that chef and sommelier around more often; he seems to do an occasionally acceptable job ;).

These have been sent to the angels over the last week or so.

The 2008 Isolation Ridge was only barely showing signs of aging characters - years left in it.

The Burn Cottage (2009) and the Freycinet (2010) were fuller styles than the Sinapius (2010), which was very light, but quite elegant. Of the first two, PJM and I preferred the Freycinet (she did not participate in the Sinapius which I had over two successive nights early in the week).

The Bremerton (2013) is fruity and fresh and needs more age.
Glad to see I wasn't drinking alone while in Taswegia!:D. Heaven forbid!

But nice wine in any view!

It certainly was - unbelievable dark apricot orange colour, syrupy and an excellent counterpoint to the lemon tart. Glad we took the advice I got and drank it, so you can cellar the Noble One for a special occasion.

Needless to say, nothing left in many bottle or the decanter

Just arriving at my hotel now - glad for the fact we drank water between every wine opening and the end

No - the 20th Noir Feline just needs to hold the phone at the correct orientation :p.
I've tried rotating the phone as per advice here. My photos still post sideways. Other days they post upright from the standard orientation of the phone...

Do be careful what you drink out there.

[h=1]A man has died in Spain after ordering a glass of wine but instead given a dishwater detergent by mistake.[/h]A 50-year-old man has died after he was served dishwater detergent instead of white wine, suffering horrific burns to his windpipe, throat and stomach.

Andres Lorente,a 50 year old man visited a café in Spain on Sunday afternoon.

He ordered a glass of white wine but was killed by what was served to him instead.

It appears that he was served, by the waiter, an industrial cleaner instead of white wine that he had ordered. This mistake occurred because the dishwasher detergent was poured in an empty wine bottle and was put inside the fridge.

The detergent was colorless and odorless so neither the waiter nor Andres Lorente realized that it wasn’t wine in the bottle.

The victim, a divorced dad-of-two, was taken by ambulance to a local health centre before being rushed to hospital in nearby Vinaros as his condition worsened.

Local Civil Guard officers confirmed they had arrested the cafe-bar owner on suspicion of manslaughter and released him on bail after questioning.

Lesson learned. Don't order white wine.

Haven't you seen red detergent?
Take your poison, Red or White.

Lesson learned. Don't order white wine.

Well, historically, the Austrians were caught using Ethylene Glycol to add body to their whites and the French were done when the Sodium Hydroxide they'd added to boost the body of the Reds corroded the pipes transferring the wines between vats and bottles. So take your pick, or swill as it maybe.

Develop a nose for your wines and detergents, Bru! :)

Sharing an award winning Israeli wine with the missus tonight. One of a few brought back with me from recent trip to the Holy Land.

That reinforces SWMBO's views on Spanish wine.
