Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

We had our last bottle of this tonight

I'm no wine buff but this is everything I love about SA Shiraz, big fruit driven, just the right amount of fuzzy tannins at the end.
Simply a gorgeous drop and will definitely seek out some more

Thursday is the start of the weekend isn't it ? ;)

It may not remain in good condition that long.
I always treat a vintage port like a bottle of wine. How long would you keep an opened bottle of wine for?
Others may not agree. Regardless of what happens I hope you enjoy the port as S & K are renowned for their ports.
I very much look forward to your appraisal.

For dinner tonight I opened the last remaining bottle from my 2010 South African trip.
I was lucky enough to taste great wines in the Franschhoek region at some of the oldest wineries in the world. Can't wait to go back there again :)

It has been 2 weeks on the wagon since getting home so it was time for a treat-

A 1984 St.Hugo.Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon.
Very good .just over the top and my last bottle.

Found a bargain at First Choice Townsville today ... Vintage Mumm 2004. Reduced from $90 a bottle to $60.. And gee it's bloody good.

It is a good deal. There has been a bit of discussion about it in the Epicure thread.

Assuming you don't pay too much for the Penfolds (and in my view Penfolds ARE pricey now) it's a very good deal.

DM has 2011 Bin 28 for $25 so that seems a good option. I bought a 2010 St Henri for a future wedding present maybe I should put it in my new fridge instead...

A friend organised a Barolo master class at Kappy's yesterday for lunch (read all afternoon). Some fantastic wines, but hello acid and tannins!
