Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

I've now had two Grand Merlots and loved both of them. I haven't tried the Domaine A Merlot. But if it's anything like the Domaine Cab Sauv I have had, then I wouldn't be surprised if it has that accolade. Should I amend my 'pinnacle' note, do you think?

Series 1 Episode 1 at 25mins has a lovely segment on Montepulciano, even if they can't pronounce the name properly and pick the wrong wine in the end (the other one is my favourite Tuscan), it's quite amusing.

Wine from lunch today. I wanted to post a photo since it is ORANGE and I have never had an orange wine before.

Any insights into why it might be orange? It tasted quite nice.

Extra points if anyone can guess the location..

Orange wines are a bit of a new-wave trend. Just white that has been fermented with the skins, red wine-style.

So different from rose, which is made from red grapes.

Alas I've had the same recent disappointing experience as you, DB, two bottles - one decanted for the full time, one not - and both lacking the depth I remember from your 08

Have just managed to bring mine home, so will give one a go over the weekend (subject to what we're having for dinner)

So I have just completely blind tasted Buzzard's mystery wine. The only thing I know about this bottle is it's wine and it came from Buzzard!

I have just sent my preliminary tasting notes to Buzzard. But I cannot locate the sent email (is there a way I can find a sent email? My IT skills are next to useless). I was going to upload my notes here, no doubt in the embarrassing expectation I have got it completely wrong!

I liked it. If I have guessed correctly, then I can see why Buzzard asked me to give it a quick road test. He would have seen from my posts it's a variety I like! If I can just get hold of that sent email then I am happy to reveal my inner thoughts on it (and no doubt I am completely wrong!!).

Have had a few orange wines in northern Italy and I must say they didn't do much for me. Some were terrible. It's a newish "trend" in the west and I'm yet to get convinced.

But happy to follow recommendations!

Looks a bit light on and cherryish? Young Pinot, Barberra, Gammay? Vino Nuovo?

Unsure what application or website you're sending the email from, but most applications (Outlook etc.) have a "Sent Items" or "Sent Email" folder that should have all your sent email

I think Buzz told us it was made by one of the Adelaide winemaker schools (not sure of the proper name)..

Snap, I won't post a picture, because it's a clone of Steady's. I had a small sample fresh out of the bottle, and my first thoughts echo the fruity and acidic comments. I can see the more I drink of this, I think I will really start to like it (requiring time to open up in a decanter is a sure way to stop me from cracking a second bottle). But for now it's in the decanter having some time to contemplate what it wants to taste like with dinner.
