DbI agree, it is a lovely wine. It was so nice I was too blissed out last night to even post my tasting notes. Here they are for anyone interested:
Okay, I’m quickly turning into an ardent Fox Gordon fan. Hanna’s Swing is a young wine, but still very well composed. Mouthfuls of fresh and vibrant blackberry and plumb fruit on the front of the palate, with a hint of peppery spice, tar and graphite in supporting roles. The tannins still slightly grippy but not overly drying. The use of oak is restrained, leaving nothing but some subtle cedar overtones. Good balance and a nice long finish. Scrumptious. A 94 on CT from me.
There were some interesting parallels with the Brothers and Sisters cab sav. Both wines have a real vibrancy to the fruit shining through. They also both have restrained oak treatment and very nice poise and balance. I'm not sure that Hannah's Swing is quite in the same league as Brothers and Sisters, but it is very close, and the family resemblance is quite marked.
Another gift (I think from Katy or Alzoam - sorry guys, my brain is fried after such a massive working week). And this time it's a mof_ bargain legend that had me chucking the Parker First Growth 08 down the sink (too tannic, life's too short):
the Schild Estate Grenache, Mourvèdre, Shiraz 2013
Very lovely cool climate Shiraz. Spice, long tannin, rich palate. At its peak.

Deep colour, vibrant hue; deep and compelling levels of ripe black fruits, savoury spices and well handled toasty oak; the palate is unctuous and silky, with black and red fruits combining with silky fine-grained tannins expanding across the palate with true grace and harmony; long and luscious."
So is your glass half full or half empty?I would like to participate in this thread more but this is what I see for most images on the iPhone app. View attachment 68179

Lovely! Yes I thought on reflection that the 2009 was at its peak so I won't keep my other bottles much longer. Depends on specific vintage though, so good to have other opinions! What he said. Following on from TRTMA.... Thought I'd grab a bottle ....well it's Sunday night.....2006 Shaw & Smith - Shiraz. Silky smooth, typical cool climate .. with peppery finish. Glad I opened one......a few to go but will not wait long term...cheers

A rather epic dinner party at our place last night with AFF and non-AFF friends. All delicious wines but my highlights were the Pizzini Sangiovese and the two Yering Station wines.
Had a 2005 Rockford SVS Flaxman last night - yes, it was gorgeous. Fortunately only one other taker at the table, so we had a prolonged enjoyment
And you didn't invite me? :erm:
