Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

Some years ago @RooFlyer gave me this bottle of absolutely lip smackin' wine. Complete in a little wooden case.
Reading the back label, the grapes are picked at -10C! Imagine that. The grapes at that temperature have actually solidified.
So the wine.... beautiful nose, delicate, peach came to mind.

I recently had a Tasmanian Frogmores Iced Riesling and fell in love with it

Was drinking Western Victoria tonight. The Chardonnay from Shadowfax has to be one of the best I have had for a long time...bit of a bargain from VM for $17 as a black market buy.

I really like the shadowfax, is it the black market deal #36691 now @ aud15?

Had this (amongst other wines) at lunch yesterday. Really good wine. I see Dans and a few other stock this for around $38.

How did the Jacquart stack up against the Tattinger ?
We really enjoyed our first Jcq on Christmas eve, so much that I bought another 6 (have to pick them up tomorrow)
The second was consumed in a social setting yesterday .
It was opened after quite a few more ,er, economical versions of bubbly had been consumed.
Nobody was very excited but I decided their taste buds were quite numb by then…..

You’ll have to ask @TomVexille

Whilst some restaurants may charge more, I wouldn't call it a mistake price at more than double the CD price.
More than triple? Looks like a standard markup if they are buying direct. But probably good value compared to other things on the list.

Our Christmas selection. We did have a Patricia and Alex as guests...and a few great ladies. Nearly all bought thanks to AFF tips
That has given me a great idea for a dinner theme - must bring a wine relevant to your name. But I’m sure someone has thought of it before.

Was there a theme for this tasting or just bring a fish and chip wine ?

Theme was cheap and cheerful. So the idea is something on the cheaper end of the spectrum that's half decent. Also something that vaguely went with fish and chips. It also was an extremely hot evening in Perth last night, hence mainly whites.

A pretty loose theme.

Fish 'n chips was the food; cheap and cheerful wine to suit - but a costly wine was not excluded should someone wish to bring it.

It was held at @Daver6 and Mrs Daver6's place; 11 peeps. A great casual night, with many very pleasant wines.
