Out of interest, which BWS/State? Have not seen a clearance box in any near me but will keep an eye out.Not sure if I should be posting this yet as I have not opened them but have tasted all but one in the past. I like it when you show up at the local BWS and notice what's in the last drinks pile. It is fair to suggest there was not much left in the pile by the time I had finished.
Charles Heidsieck my not be our first choice when it comes to Champagne but at $10 a bottle I could not pass it up.
- Charles Heidsieck (2017) - $10 each (12)
- Cullen - $5 each (12)
- Nick Spencer Pinot Gris (2021) - $5 each (6)
- Nick Spencer Rose - $5 each (12)

This is in SA, the store has a last drinks barrel and most of the time it is full of cough, but I always take a look. Today was different and I swept up everything that was available, it was more good timing and I am quite sure that by later today or tomorrow I would have not even known it was available for sale as it would have been swept up by someone else.Out of interest, which BWS/State? On today's find I also picked up a couple of cases of average Pinot Noir for $5 a bottle with a retail value of around $10-15 a bottle so a bit of a saving but nothing like what I posted above.

Only one of those can be found in BWS bargain bins...
30 odd years ago the Adelaide Hills had lots of land and farms, these days small vineyards are popping are up everywhere. There are also a number of growers down near Robe and the Coonawarra that have started to make there own wines rather than just selling their grapes to the larger brands. Whenever I come across these small wineries I always give them a go as often the wine is quite good and not expensive. Normally if you want to get more you will need to order it through their websites as many do not have distribution channels and are not in stores as they do not produce the volume required. Kangaroo Island also produces some excellent wines.Probably a winery no one here has heard of before. Just around the corner from me on the edge of suburbia. Pellegrino the winemaker is 83 and has dedicated his last few years to making simple, fruit forward wines.
This is a fantastic example of McLaren Vale wine for the price. A heavier Grenache with plenty of that Vale leather. Drinking great now and at $15, can't go wrong.
