No doubt this was a 15% plus fruit assault?
awesome wine- did you get to the winery at wooing tree?
Sounds interesting. Never come across a Tannat! Must go looking...Tannat's usually a grape that needs 20+ years to soften up. Had a 2000 Chateau Montus Madiran AOC this afternoon, and I think it's just starting to get to a good spot.
Definitely an enigmatic grape that's not easy to come by

Go on! Refill them all with Tannat and see who notices.

AC how did the 1989 Wendouree Cabernet Sauvignon fare?
Just a word of caution, this is the 2013 vintage (although still a 96 from JH). I don't think it's available at retail anymore, although a few have come up on Langtons.Glad I have plenty of these to savour over the years to come, GW. And it's still available after a quick look now, including for $33.99 a bottle here: https://www.ourcellar.com.au/paxton-jones-block-mclaren-vale-shiraz-750ml/
