Re: No more QF chauffer drive to LAX and DFW

Meant to add too that my trip commences June 7th to Europe and no call from Qantas either, maybe I will ring CS to just see what they have to say

Just ring Qantas on June 7th when your CD was originally planned for... and ask them where the CD is...

Two can play this game.

Re: No more QF chauffer drive to LAX and DFW

I have CD booked Hotel to LAX on the 24th July and Melbourne to home on the 26th July - travelling J on OWE Award...does this now mean I wont get either ?

See that hand over there, the one with fingers clenched except for the middle one which is pointing up in the air? Guess who is on the other end of it?

Re: No more QF chauffer drive to LAX and DFW

Bookings to Europe shouldn't be affected?

Only affects my LAX and home flights, flying Malayasian to London on June 7th, so would have thought that Qantas would have called ? No matter I am going to try them soon just to see what they say

Thanks, I'm a bit slow on the uptake this morning
Good luck with the call !

Re: No more QF chauffer drive to LAX and DFW

There's no bottom of my barrel - and that's just from my involvement with AFF. ;)

While I don't have anything to add beyond the original post on this thread, I've certainly been monitoring feedback and updating the relevant teams. The frustration, disappointment, and overall sentiment is consistent, and certainly not watered down in my reporting.

As noted, our Reservations teams are doing their best to proactively contact customers on what has been a hard day for them also. They cannot assist with compensation, however can discuss options regarding your future booking.

just PM'd RedRoo, but cc'ed here to open forum:

"Just another one to add to the disappointment at QF's announcement and handling of this.

Trip booked for Oct, and QF chosen in part because of CD.

For the first time in many years I am now actively looking at other carriers, particularly as on almost all routes QF is far from the cheapest carrier."

Re: No more QF chauffer drive to LAX and DFW

So I assume many here have already emailed QANTAS voicing their disapproval at removal of CD? Has anybody actually received response as yet?

Re: No more QF chauffer drive to LAX and DFW

Can't believe you have not had a call yet. Travel date is less than a month away.
Maybe they are organising compensation for you.

Already sent an email to QFF and for the standard "We aim to get back to you within 15 business days" WHATEVER!!
I have also logged a complaint with ACA (Aus Airline Advocate). They promised a response within 20 business days!
WINNING !!

The Airline Advocate is a waste of time, do not even bother

Take the issue to the ACCC and Consumer Affairs in your stats/territory

I'd be interested to know how the ACA is able to help you.

They won't they are a waste of time

Flights on MH would not have been eligible for CD. Also, I understood that only flights ticketed to QF or EK stock are eligible i.e. if you booked a QF flight via BA, not CD either.

Just called, was put on hold while the CSR went off and queried , came back very apologetic but they only found out a day or so ago, when I mentioned that I was leaving on the 7th June, she said I had beaten them to making a call to me, no offer of compensation. No point in having a go at her but I did express my disappointment at the lack of contact.

If 'ACA' is "A Current Affair", then I would have thought that if they chose to run with the general story, that would be something that Qantas would react to; more so than e-mails from disgruntled pax (they already have your money, after all).

No fan of ACA, and never watch it (SBS news for me), but it's very wide audience, and the capacity to broadcast a really negative story about the airline I would think would at least shake the upper branches the QF management are perched on. Won't reverse the current decision, but would send the message that there are strong PR consequences of screwing your customers.

If I was affected, I would give them a call.

No way, the ACA is Aus Airline Advocate

The average ACA viewer would be outraged at anyone travelling in business or first class anyway and the mere through of a CD transfer would set them into a fit !

I'm glad I qualified my post :) and I now see that dmac6345 spelled it out just up-thread.

They told me it only affects LAX & DFW.

.... at the moment ...... (my words)

Re: No more QF chauffer drive to LAX and DFW

It's not particularly consistent having a chauffeur available on some destinations and not others... Though the quality of chauffeured vehicles varies a lot as well.

It's a constantly inconsistent service... So pretty well aligned to other Qantas services.

But only services from 1 July are impacted. If you are travelling on 7 June, it should still be available if you are eligible...

No June 7th is our departure to Europe which is not available, the return from LAX was and is now cancelled
