You need flexible fare rules and generally the original fare bucket needs to be available - frequently unlikely for the 'classic award' priced JASA's.

Hi guys, I booked a JASA SYD-BNE on monday the 12th of March but would like to change it to sunday night at the moment they are saying there arent any award fares available on any of the evening flights, can i create a seat alert in exeprtflyer to tell me if any seats in U class become available? or do i have to just keep calling up and hoping there will be one available? thanks as always for all your help

re: ( Now gone) "how do I book a J any seat award at classic award points level" thread.

Hey guys,

Thanks for these awesome tips. I used this to book a JASA (PER-MEL-SYD) later in the year, I was looking at the direct flight as I wanted to go on the 747 but that mantra of "why go direct when you can connect" was ringing in my ears. It helped that the 747 inventory was snapped up rather quickly.

Anyway the point of this is I have now been involuntarily re-routed to the direct flight. The QF agent who called me was rather confused at the thought of preferring to go the longer route, but I held out explaining the need for the SCs to hit SG. As I was being re-routed I asked if he could get me onto the 747, which he was able to do.

So at the end of the day I (hope that I) will get ORC for the flight but travel upstairs on the 747 and fulfill that childhood dream.

I think that this makes it official, I am an addict.

I would think you have little chance of ORC for this one since have accepted a reroute well in advance.

Posted on a wing and a prayer

I am thinking that as well. but it has been noted in the booking that it is an involuntary re-route and that there were no other available flights to put me on. If you dont ask, you dont get.

Question in two parts:

1. Is it just me or are the JASA's PER-HKG during Mar, Apr and May all ridiculously high? (I suspect I'm about to provide the reason that the answer is yes)
2. Rec'd the double SC email invite yesterday for flights to HKG for flights during, funnily enough, 23Mar - 17May. Each attempt to register told me I wasn't successful. Anyone else had this problem?

How much hurt would it cause you to go 166k Classic?

re: ( Now gone) "how do I book a J any seat award at classic award points level" thread.

480 SCs, which when combined with what I have left flying-wise until June 30 (my anniversary) would get me awfully close to 2400SCs.

re: ( Now gone) "how do I book a J any seat award at classic award points level" thread.

Have you looked out of MEL,SYD,BNE and even ADL as a long cut to get the JASA SCs ?

Loved the typo Markis10.... We need help and CNS is a great idea to do a run from PER to a few airports then out of CNS.
Will Cairns airport stay open after the election today?

Ah Queensland! God's country...

re: ( Now gone) "how do I book a J any seat award at classic award points level" thread.

No I hadn't looked elsewhere. Thanks for the ideas. Will just have to see if whatever I come up with qualifies for the double SC deal.

If you have the time and flexibility you could consider returning with CX from TPE.
They often have TPE-HKG-ADL-PER one way in J for about $1500 which would earn, I think, 240 SCs.
Have to get there first of course.

re: ( Now gone) "how do I book a J any seat award at classic award points level" thread.

I just did Business JASA Melb-Syd-Akl return as I'm also on the double SC deal until end of May. Business trip so slid the scale to minimum points (72,000) +$346. Points earn was 8,500 + 8000 loyalty bonus so net points burned only 55,500. SC earn of 240 = 480 on double deal. To me a very valuable earn towards platinum at minimal points (and a bloody cheap flight for the company to pay).

Hey Guys, this is my first post on this forum, but there will definitely be more

ASA: SIN-MEL in First for 90,000+ $550 SGD (roughly 480AUD) + 180 Status Credits
Classic: SIN-MEL in First for 90,000

on christmas day

Seem worth it?

FASA, I'd book it:mrgreen: IMO, do not book the classic award.

How much tax did they want to charge you for classic?

Welcome to AFF.

Welcome to AFF.

Classic taxes are around $150AUD. The only problem is though, those status credits earned with the ASA will fall outside my renewal date for silver status (which is in November) - you don't reckon QF would extend this?

2 chances, change your dates IMHO

Do you need to travel for Christmas?
And will the timing work for you and your nearest and dearest?
Then book the FASA.
The SCs will give you a head start for the next year's status.

No chance of an extension of your QFF renewal date, I would wager.
